Diff, Gear Box and Transfer Case Breathers
Nice, relatively cheap and easy modification completed this weekend wan my extended diff breathers.
Essentially I followed hookedon4wding's post here: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post258481
I purchased a Diff breather kit off ebay, this included:- 2 x 1/8 BSP Male to 1/4" PU
- 2 x 1/8 BSP Male to 1/4" PU 90 degree
- 4 x 1/8 BSP to 1/4" PU Bulk Head
- 4 x 1/8 BSP filters
- 12 metres 1/4" PU clear hose - i swear it was only about 6 metres...
On top of this I needed:- 2 x 4mm Poly irrigation joiners (90 degrees)
- 1 x 3mm vacuum line joiner (straight)
- 1 x 5/16 tail barb (1/4 BSP) - Brass
- 1 x 3/16 tail barb (1/4 BSP) - Brass
- 1 x 1/4 BSP Coupler
- Several Cable ties
- Aluminium angle
- 2 x M6 nuts
- 2 x M6 Nyloc nuts
In the end, I needed only 1 of the 1/8 BSP Male to 1/4" PU for the rear diff. The other breather lines were simply joined as per the post linked above.
A mate and I fashioned the bracket from scratch and attached the filters:
We then connected some of the hose to the fitting in the rear diff and ran it along side the fuel tank and up into the engine bay. Toward the axle, the hose was run with the flexible brake lines.
The transfer case and Gear box breathers had the 90 degree joiners attached and the hose run back behind the engine up the fire wall and across to the bracket. Note that to remove these from the engine bay and drop them to under the car took a fair bit of wiggling between the engine and the fire wall.
The front diff breather required a special mock up of fittings to go from 5/16" down to the hose diameter.
This was cable tied to some existing pipework to support the higher mass:
All the hoses were run along the A/C lines toward the filters and were secured to them. Everything was cable tied out of the way and the job was done.
This did take 2 of us 5 hours or so to do. Its relatively easy, just a little squeezy and fiddly.Spilsy

Removed the plastic shroud thingy around the reversing camera - it seems superfluous to me.
It was a matter of removing the 3 bolts holding the camera arrangement in place, then removing the 2 screws holding the shroud on. Nice and simple.

Auto XS Roof Bars
About 2 months ago, I was strolling through ALDI and stumbled on their Roof Bars for ~$80. I very nearly bought them. Over the weekend, again while touring the camping sale in ALDI, I found the bars on sale for $39.99. This was a bargain I could not pass up.
The Bars clamp onto the Prado's Roof Rails, so no real work required. They are rated for 90kg. They do whistle a bit, but that can be overcome when I install the extra rubber strips under the Bars.
I intend on using them for storage of long items such as a Shovel, My Queen size Self Inflating Mattress and my makeshift awning (or a real one when I get onto that)
I may work on a basket for the top too, maybe off the shelf, maybe home made - see how we go!!

I got some bolts and channel nuts from CraigM (TraxRax manufacturer here on Pradopoint) to mount the L brackets for my Roo Systems awning to my Toyota Sports cross bars (the re-badged Rhino ones). I used the same ones to mount the awning to the Rhino Pioneer Platform. I did have to drill the L brackets out a bit for the larger bolts that Craig supplies but the result is a much more secure mount.
