    I bought the rear wheel spacer and light pole mount off amts off here. Then just got a mate to weld a flat piece of steel on top of a pole and painted it.



    I also forgot to mention that I modified the stock front mud flaps to try and help the mud come out as it always gets caught in there.


    Since I haven't uploaded a picture of my rear drawers


    Gave it a nice bath on the weekend and made it look respectable again.

      Got a winch cradle fabricated up last week (by a mate) but the Prado front coils looked sagged. Got them replaced on Friday with new HD Tough Dog coils and wow, what a difference! I swear the old ones had sagged to stock height!
      This is what it looks like now:


      I'll upload pictures of the winch cradle at a later stage. It definitely isn't going to break, I'm confident in that

          Winch is now all mounted up. Pretty keen to have a use for it now







          New coils have settled and come down a bit now.


          Next thing on the list is the rock sliders\steps.

            Looking good! If you were a little further south you'd have no problems finding somewhere to use a winch. It's been over a week since all that heavy rain and my backyard still sounds/feels like a swamp when I walk in it.

            Your mate done some nice work on that cradle !

              Picked up this today to replace the drawers that I currently have so I'll need to tidy mine up and try and sell them.
              These will make it easier to remove and access the air compressor\tank.

                  Work on the HD steps\sliders started on the weekend, finally. Got a mate welding them all up.





                  Planning on welding this to a 50x50x2.5 box section that will connect to the mounts that will clamp to the chassis.

                        Sliders are done now. All I need to do is find someone to paint them as I don't have a paint gun.






                        I've recently had a battery leak so I need to put some bicarb on it and sand it back. Then put a layer of paint on it.

                        Also would like to get rid of a heap of rust specs off the chassis by sanding it lightly and then putting a layer of paint on it. Not sure when this will happen but I'd love to do it before I mount the sliders up.
                        Would love to remove the front bar\winch mount and also do the same thing to it.

                        Having the father-in-law come visit next month for a week or so, so I plan to get him to make me a new rear drawer setup as he's a plasterer\cabinet maker.

                          Sliders look good mate. With mine I had them sprayed initially & then when I touched them up I took them back to bare metal, sprayed 2 coats of gal them brushed on 3 coats by hand. No brush marks and looks glossy . I felt it went on thicker with a brush as well.

                          I used this which is a I got of a mate. Worked a treat.

                            Well, still need to find someone to paint my sliders but I want to get the chassis and any rust sorted first.

                            I have had my father in law making a new rear drawer setup and I love it!
                            Can't wait to hook up a fuse block and put some carpet on it.











                            He's also going to make a rear trek table from the rear door.

                                If you're looking to do some painting of the chassis and sliders consider KBS RustSeal - it's exactly the sort of application it's been made for. I've used it recently and yes it feels rock hard, just haven't tested off road yet. A couple tips - rustseal dries very easily and rock hard, so don't open the can often - pour out only what you need and close again - and when sealing the can, clean the edges and use glad wrap to prevent it drying shut (it will be impossible to re-open otherwise). Also wear gloves and face protection - splashes won't clean off, I had some on myself for a week. Finally rustseal is sensitive to sunlight, so for any exposed areas such as bull bar or outer slider sections, do a top coat of KBS Blacktop.
