Talking to ARB this week about brush bars and steps, can't decide between the expensive colour coded option or Powerful 4x4 side steps... Helpppppp!
The shortlist of things to do in the next few weeks are: Sliders, Diff Breathers, Scangauge and maybe a Pioneer rack. Maybe. My Rig Build Up

If I dont end up getting what I want first time round I end up regretting it until I change it and ultimately waste cash in the long run. Thats my take anyway.

I ALMOST bought some powerful 4x4 steps today, got them down to $699.
So I went to ARB instead and bought a diff breather kit, I'm ordering a scangauge, and chewing my finger nails over getting the side steps. My Rig Build Up

Super awesome mega update time:
It's been a great two months! Tackled lots of tracks and tacked a bit onto the Prado too!
Got the steps fitted to the Prado, and went off to Mount Walker for a fun day trip.
This is a friends Prado heading through the water crossing, you literally drive down the river bed!
Made it to the top of the trig point, which isn't an easy track. No one else in our group would attempt it. I guess that just makes me crazy? Jokes on them, they had to walk up.
It was a great day at Mount Walker, I would highly recommend it to anyone. We took a stock Triton (with All Terrains) with a fairly inexperienced driver and had no issues after the right driving line was taken. (Except the final trig track!)
Next I received the Rhino rack and the TraxRax, fantastic bits of kit! The prado got a quick clean and a photoshoot was arranged.
Note the installaton of the AMTS rear light pole, it has been so useful.
With Button from AirOnBoard:
Next was the install of the Diff Breathers, with took longer than I'd like to admit, mainly due to waiting for joiners and adapters.
I didn't take as many photo's as I would have liked but the general gist of what I did is as follows:
Removed the factory breather off of the top of the rear diff, replacing it with a 1/8" BSP to hose adapter. Making sure to use plumbers tape. I then ran the tubing from the diff and cable tied it down the drivers side of the car up to the side near brake res where I mounted the Breather kit.
(shitty photo time)
I then laid ontop of the engine, used a screwdriver and managed to pop the 2 transmission and the single bellhousing breather lines off their mounts. The two transmission breather lines are approximately 4mm inside diameter, so I used a 2x 4mm to 6mm Y piece. I then used 1/4" fuel line from there back to the relocated breathers are.
(Under-car-mud-in-eyes-photo)
The Bellhousing hose is close enough to 1/4" inside diameter, so a 1/4" coupler was used and cable tied to make sure everything stays snug.
The front breather is again close to enough to 1/4" ID (Slightly larger, probably 8mm?). It lives between the factory fuel filter and fuse box, clipped into the side of the wheel well.

Part 2!
With all these modifications taking place, it was time to go for a drive. We took a 6 vehicles up to Zig Zag near Lithgow, ranging from the Prado's, to a few Navara's and a Triton.
We made our way through our standard entry spot, driving all we came across along the way.
We made our way out to the Lost City and had a nice barbeque!
And then decided to drive the rest of the powerline tracks.
(yes I drove it!)
I came extremely close to rolling the Prado on this step, in a moment of impatience and not using a spotter when I should have, the passenger side wheel descended a 1 meter drop on the hill before the drivers side tyre, sending the front passenger side down extremely quickly. Honestly one of the most sobering moments I've ever had. My friends believed that I was going over, and looking on from the top of the hill couldn't believe their eyes when I drove out.
We made our way to the bottom and had a big go at the ascent up the other side, both Prado's making it with easy, as well as the Navara with the autolocker making it look easy.
We parted with a few of our friends and decided there was still a little bit of light left, so we crossed the road and went in search of the dam.
(found it)
Very cool place to go and visit, sadly I don't know the name of it, but it's a fun little track to drive to get in and out of there as well.
The Prado's next to the trainline on the way out:
And a bit of an arty one to cap it off:
The next few months will be filled with work, hopefully a fridge and maybe some Drifta drawers! Also looking at buying a Foxwing when the time comes.
Anyone got any decent suggestions for storing water for touring? My Rig Build Up

The dam is simply known as Dargon dam or Dargon Creek dam, built as a water supply to serve the steam trains in the day.
We use it in summer as a waterhole for swimming and float the kayak or li-lows as it is a short trip from home. Didn't get there last summer, did you drive down to the base lower dam wall or has the track been closed? By the way your prado looks good and the trips are in great areas to visit.

So I've been a little bit more focused on getting the vehicle tour ready, considering has most of the exterior mods I need (Until I can afford that Kaymar!)
I've ordered a water tank from Tin, which should be on its way. I've been talking to Drifta, who unfortunately have a 7 week lead time at the moment. This doesn't bother me too much though. And I've been looking at a shinny 60L ARB fridge.. I cannot decide if I want to put a fridge slide in, or a drop slide or just strap the thing in there. I also want to get a foxwing awning, and eventually sleep under it in swags. I have been tossing and turning between going the swag option or the roof top tent. Either seem to have their upsides and downsides, the big one being the RTT's added weight to the roof. All things to consider! My Rig Build Up
