Just put some BFG MTs on... 255/75-17. That's the stock size for a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Take-off tires are easy to find.

They're definitely louder! But I love the look and the stiffer sidewall. The ride is far less floaty. Just loud.

I can shoot some of mine, but, I'll be honest with you, the engine bay is almost all plastic covers to keep up with the Lexus look. The V8 is nice, but it's fairly thirsty. I'm getting 16-17 mpg in mixed driving, which is better than I expected but still rather expensive. Luckily, this is a third car for me.

They do look like the old ones, but they are the latest design/compound (I think). I haven't looked at the date code, but they came off of a 2012 (I think) Wrangler.

No rubbing at all. That said, I haven't flexed the front suspension to see if they rub at flexed lock. I will be removing the running boards shortly, which will help reduce that risk a little bit.

In the US, our post-purchase vehicle regulations are state-by-state. I live in Texas, which has fairly strict safety and emissions laws, but changing tire sizes is not an issue. In Pennsylvania, just to name one state, I know they have restrictions about how far a tire can stick out of the fender.
