Had the 150 for few years, time to start the mods....

Following change a tyres to Coopers AT3's, I fitted a Redarc BCDC 1225 in the in the cargo area, proud of my own handy work (with some help of a friend)

    Hi Muller

I was considering the dc-dc controller but ended up going with the simple alternator diode booster fuse from abr sidewinder. seems to be doing the job well enough with no dramas.
That hatch where you mounted it is a great little spot for stuff like that being able to hide the wiring behind it and is easily accessible. I put my solar panel regulator there.

      Hi Muller,

I was wondering about where you mounted your redarc in the back? I've just bought the same unit and it says to mount close to the auxiliary battery.
I like the idea of having it in the back in the cool, have you noticed any performance issues having it back there? I ask this assuming your second battery is under the bonnet of course

      Cheers,
      Mark

My seoond battery (120ah) deep cycle is the cargo area close to the Redarc unit. It allows me remove the battery when camping. I'm currently running both 50l and 35l Waeco CfX fridge in the rear. With a bit of driving everyday all is good.
