Are you sure you work?????? how do you get the time?????
I think its time for me to do a build up time lapse photo shoot. And about time I did another mod. Last one was a tom tom, woooohoooo.Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

Bloody nice setup Chippy - The word "Fantastic" does not pay justice to the work you have done on the Playdo! Well done.Originally posted by Chippy:arrow: Work lights

OK Chippy, what gives! Two Questions - yep only two! because there are going to be heaps coming from other PPers, so I will keep it short.
Q1. That anderson plug up on the roof rack has a good use, but I have exhausted my brain thinking of your use for it. What do you plug into it?
Q2. How have you wired the power up to the anderson plug on the roof rack?
Thanks Chippy for an awesome post - It will no doub be the envy of most PPers looking at mods for their Playdo.SSSHHHH be very very quiet were huntin wabbits.

Work ??? What is work ???
Go for it Jeff. You know you want to. :lol:Originally posted by jeff sI think its time for me to do a build up time lapse photo shoot.
I always wanted to do something like this ..... get hold of a bit of a blank canvas and try and do a lot of the stuff myself (with some much appreciated help from the Bro-in-law and fellow Pradopointers) .... and its slowly coming together.
The only problem (apart from my money tree dying in the drought) is that each time I get on PP the list of mods to do gets longer

Re: My truck buildup - Chippy (*** Lots of pics ***)
When I first put the work lights up on the rack I had no idea how to get power up there and we were only days away from heading off on a trip around Oz ..... so I hooked up the Anderson plug and an extension lead - then any time I wanted the work lights on I plugged the extension lead into the power socket in the back and plugged the other end into the Anderson Plug.Originally posted by D4D-GXLQ1. That anderson plug up on the roof rack has a good use, but I have exhausted my brain thinking of your use for it. What do you plug into it?

There was no way I was going to drill a hole in the turret ... and that hasn't changed.
Since then I've run twin core flex up inside the rubber channels on each side of the windscreen. The flex then runs down through the wiper motor space and exits the firewall through the rubber grommet on the driver's side .... where it hooks into the relays.
... but the Anderson plug can stay ... 'cause I'm looking at some solar panels for the camper trailer .... but I want to be able to take one or two of them off the trailer and put them on the roof rack ... for some extra power generating ability if I'm stationary for a while ...... and the Anderson plug will let me hook them into the charging circuit.
We gotta get Leachy to post some picks of his inverter, charger and AGM battery setup ..... I reckon its the duck's nuts and I want to plagiarise the hell out of his idea ..... and add the solar panels to it.
Hope this clears it up a bit.
Cheers

Fantastic Chippy - I know you would have cried if you drilled a hole into the turret just for a little bit of 12v on the roof rack.
Very well explained - as usual Chippy. Keep up the good work.
Now to serious business Chippy.........I hope that GIF file on your profile isn't a LandRover!!!!! Good work mate.SSSHHHH be very very quiet were huntin wabbits.

Thanks Crammy
I've just got a few jobs to play around with ...
 Transmission temp guage
 In-car kit for the mobile phone
 Re-wire the spotties and fridge power .... not happy with it
 Change the front OME springs over to HD ... for the winch
 New polyairs in the back
 Rear (TJM style) bash plate to make
 A couple of fuel tank bash plates to straighten
 A second drawer unit .... with a shorter drawer and a space in behind the middle row of seats for an AGM battery ... and carpet them both
 Home made slider steps
 Then I want to explore fitting a 1000 W inverter and a 240 V 3 stage battery charger ..... for the AGM battery
 Then I've got to look at some window tinting.
Then ... if the money tree grows back after the drought ....
 a pair of lockers

I hear ya G'man
... but I've got this phone for a couple more years ... and I want a cradle for the phone, an easy way to charge it in the car and the ability to hook in an external aerial .... and the kit, for the phone, is going fairly cheap on Fleabay.
.... and if I change the phone ... and get cranky about having to change the kit .... I'll let you say, "I told ya so :!: "
Cheers
