Hey Chippy, had any problems with all those forward facing spotties?

I have heard from a number of sources that the ADRs relating to lighting was changed in the last year or two to stipulate no more than 6 forward facing lights (you have 8  ).

I know a few blokes who have removed their roof mounted spotties as a result, but I havent heard of anyone getting pinged for it yet.

Not had any dramas with them ... yet.

Been through a few RBT's and the like ... and not even had a comment.

Mind you, the white covers live on them all the time ... only coming off for the odd night run in the bush.

According to the bro-in-law, who works in the industry, the count refers to uncovered, or clear covered lights.

I haven't tested that theory yet ... why poke a hornet's nest with a stick ?

              Cheers

Have to agree with Marty on that one Chippy. Never seen it in writing but just makes for common sense. Mind you we are talking about government departments?!?

Owning and modifying the Prado has also led to meeting an amazing new group of people, both in WA and across the country .... and sharing great company and some amazing experiences off the tarmac and away from the telly.

Yes ... I did. I'd better grab a few pics and add them ops: ops:

Might have to add them to the write-up when I change over to the 150 L/min 'double pumper' compressor I just won on eBay for $61.00

I was getting sick of still pumping up tyres while you guys were all finished

I was going to pull the other one out .... I reckon the new one will fit in the same space ... I may just have to mount it a few degrees off square to get the length in.

                            Cheers

Ah ok, I was thinking they were longer than what they actually are. If it's the same unit it's 300mm long so shouldn't be much longer than your old unit. I'll be watching with interest, I'm not really happy with the way mine overheats just when I get to the last tyre.!!
I came across these BOSS units. They look rather serious. But rather large also at 330x220x140.. :?
But.....that combined with some side step air tanks would have to "blow" everything else away..

Side steps really do help Justo. Never bothered timing anything but yeah, really happy.
