Well here we go... Picked up my new White 2014 D4D GXL 2 weeks ago.



Thats my FJ Cruiser in the background - a superb car but a little too small for my needs - and a bit thirsty!



Over the past 2 weeks I have installed:

Dual Battery
TPMS
Dash Cam
Pioneer CarPlay Stereo
Icon UHF
Roof bars with Awning and Bike rack. TraxRax awaited!

I am planning to move my Drifta Drawers from the FJ to the Prado - will need a few tweaks...

CarPlay is a new Apple format to enable all iphone controls to be taken over by the head unit screen.

I have the Lightening cable in the centre console and a second USB connected to the original plug.


All the speakers have been upgraded and there is now a removable Subwoofer in the rear.

An Icon IC-440N is installed under the dash and a patch cable to the centre console allows easy removal of the mic when not needed (or for it to be hidden behind the shut flap)

A Blackvue camera and TyreDog TPMS are hard wired under the dash and installed on the windscreen. No loss of cigarette socket in the centre console.



Amplifiers for speakers and Subwoofer are installed under both front seats.


All the stereo and UHF work has been expertly completed by Sound In Motion in Nambour, Qld (No I am not on the payroll - just appreciate good work!)

Symo - what are you saying about me!!!!! Actually I am probably stuck in the 80s! I do love my music and really enjoy being able to crank it up when I am on my own. Need to watch out for the new Qld road rules though - $355 fine for playing music loud!!
