I continued to play with the 12 volt side of things today. I bought all the stuff needed to get the plugs in the back sorted, however time was against me. So i got to install the narva fuse block instead. I always like the idea of these but never had one. After the fuse block was done i also tidied some other wiring up.

iI managed to get a couple of small jobs completed. Firstly changed all the globes to leds. Its like day time inside. And secondary, wired and in anderson plug in the back for the fridge, and rewired the factory socket with heavier cable. Pics below

What make of wheels and size are they?

I wanted something a little bigger then a 265 but not something that would scrub badly. Settled for a set of 275/70/17 bf ko2s. , on kings d locka rims. I did have to remove the front mudflaps, and give the bottom part of the bumper abit of a "sports cut" . It would hit on full lock. But since doing that it fits perfectly. Next time round i'd consider a 285 but that will be a long time off yet.

In other news, i have purchased a bull bar. Just waiting for them to get it now...

Another little thing done today. I have had the prado for a few months now but still hadn't got around to putting seat covers on her. I have been keeping an eye out for some "cheaper" canvas or neoprene covers. I didn't like the look of the supacentre ones. Then i came around these;

Now they don't fit as well as some of the tailor made ones, but for the price i paid i can live with how they are. They also have side, front and rear pockets for things to.

So i rang the bullbar shop a few days ago, just asking if they had a rough eta on when the bar would be in. The guy said he will call Ironman and see. He then proceeded to tell me he is not sure and he would call me in the afternoon. No phone call. Called again today, spoke to another guy, long story short, should be to much longer. Its been 3 weeks since i ordered it and i am keen as mustard to put it on.

I have ordered the deluxe commercial bar. However there has been a bit of a hick up with it. I ordered the bar about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I have been ringing them every week to try and find out when it is going to arrive. The first few times i was told should be to long, should be next week etc. I then spoke to someone again last week, and got told there isn't any in the country and they wont have their next shipment until the end of November. At the time i was on the clock at work, so i just said thanks. But i'm pretty annoyed about this. I'll call them again on Monday and see what they can do for me, if not might have to go else where.


In other news, Em and i went for a beach camp last weekend. Got on the sand and sunk like a pile of potatoes. I suspected i had no minimal drive to the front. Then i could smell it. Clutch went. The prado and camper got pulled off by an old Gq of all things. Anyway, new clutch went in yesterday as well as the rear main seal.

Same thing happened to me at a recent local 4x4 show where I placed an order for an Ironman Deluxe bar (along with an Ironman lift kit). They took the deposit only to advise that since the Prado 120s weren't a current model that it would have to be via special order with a December earliest delivery date (grrr). As I needed one before then decided to go with the Commercial bar instead (without the integrated fog lights) at a slightly cheaper price but still not good to take orders for products they don't have stock of (Ironman rep was there too).

That's frustrating. I ordered the bar 1 month ago and only found out last Thursday they wouldn't have it until the end of November. I am going to give them a call today.

The handset sits slightly lower then i originally had planned. But the position it is in is so easy to take out and put back in.

Today the prado went in for a wheel rotation and balance. While it was in i picked up some king wheel caps.

What you could also do is mount the body behind the dash trim, under the seat or somewhere out of the way and run an extension mic cable up to this

Which slots in to one of the many blanks around the cig lighter area in the center console. Then just plug your mic in to the new oem looking socket.

BTW your rig is coming a long great well done.
