Replaced the auxiliary battery's terminals today - I know, I'm fussy. Anyway, I found these at super cheap auto and they are quick release. This in my opinion is a bonus in the event you need to kill the power in a hurry. Bit like those boat isolation switches without the expense. The pair cost 7 bucks

How good is the contact of those quick release terminal clamps BB? Will they come loose while driving over ruff stuff? Will there be any resistance and therefore heat due to a less secure connection? Sorry if I sound like a downer here.

I bought an engine gaurdian off ebay. This will monitor engine temperatures giving real readouts via a digital display. Unlike the factory gauge in the Prado, this sytem will detect engine temps rising for any number reasons and sound a warning alarm.

Easy instal and it's all working well.

            Here are some pics...

Display unit exactly where I wanted it, it does not obscure the dash at all.

I have only tested it for short periods today and it is doing what it is supposed to.

Love your set up you should be very proud of what you have achieved! I just picked up my "new" 2005 Grande 120 also in Black (petrol though) and absolutely love it. Had a black 90 series before that for 10 years and loved that one so know I am going to love this one. I will just have to get around to fitting aux battery etc when the time/money and body (had spine surgery 2 years ago so not as mobile) allows. I stripped the 90 of its battery setup but I think it needs modifying to bring up to similar standard as yours. BTW what car wash do you use to keep it looking so good? I try to use one that eliminates the bead marks - using Mothers at the moment and seems ok but not as good as the one I used to use until they stopped making it. Havent tried it on my new wheels yet and with the rain from the last couple days it maybe an excuse to give it a go now. Congrats again - love what you have done! - cheers Mick

Hi Mick and thanks for the compliments.

I just use the car wash from woolies (with the xr6 on the bottle) but I add a cap full of kero to the bucket. I just wash it regularly and polish it every few months. I am currently using 'mothers' car polish.

                cheers

Silvo, I don't want to start a debate here or give Myth Busters their next challenge, BUT, I have used a capfull of kero in a bucket with car wash on dark colours for years. It acts like a wax and stops the water marks caused by the water drying on dark colours before you dry it with the chamois. In my opinion it gives the car a nice glossy finish as well. Others will dispute this and claim it will wreck the paint or perish rubbers etc. I have done this for years and never had a problem.

Maybe it's the polish every couple of months?

After having the quick release terminals in for a while now, whats your verdict on them?
Is it just me, or do they seem a little light on at the connection point for the battery cables?

The rig looks the part mate, i'm very impressed!!!

                            G'Day Matt

I haven't really done anything too rough, but so far so good. Will be doing a few trips soon, which will give it the real test (but I'm taking standard connection with me , just in case) and will let you know.

                            cheers

sorry D4D, i just saw your question. I am really struggling with this new forum format. The chip is fine, but I find the car blows way too much smoke under load. I have adjusted back to near pre-chip performance when I am not towing, just to reduce the smoke.
