      Hi David,

Yeah, I initally looked for a battery tray but couldn't find one and gave up.
I couldn't find one suitable or cheap enough at Supercheap or Autobarn,
then a mate of mine put me onto Burson Auto Parts. They're just another auto spares store.
I'd never heard of them b4, but funnily enough they had a store just up the road from me.

The tray was cheap too, I had to fold up the end to make it fit, but I needed the 90degree fold to hang the light ballasts.

      cheers

Great build up and well set out for others to get some inspiration. Your pic reminds me of AJ120's saying "The world is my toilet" ;p

Nice compressor install there Stewy. Very neat and tidy, like the idea of moving the connector as well...

Need to get your hands on a rubber cap (like whats used on chair legs?) for the air connection for stop the mud and sand from getting in!!! I think bunnings has them for sale? Always handy to have a few spare too, just in case...

Thanks for the feedback Matty&Loz, and I was starting to think that my BuildUp thread was lost in the ether. Its been ages since I've put a post up.

I do have plans to replace the cap and was thinking just the other day about a rubber one, I had seen an example of one on the forum here somewhere.
At the time I used hose cap and had a spare for backup. Whilst it does fit quite snug it isn't water proof or should I say water crossing proof.
I visited clark rubber after I found this out and bought an O ring as there's a groove in top of the hose fitting, this seems to have stopped water entering during a crossing.
But I'll take your advise on the cap, as I do need to replace it cause I noticed the other day that the plastic one has split a little.

              cheers

A new edition coming with a bit of luck.......I'll keep ya posted......

                100watt HID's fitted to the IPF900XS - TBA.

I've been keeping an eye on some new ballasts and globes on ebay, as they seem to be about the same price as the 55watt versions I bought 2yrs back.
I've had no problems with the 55watters but I do like the idea of having a bit more distance and am curious about these 100watt versions.

With a little luck I hope to sneak these past the TLD (Traction Limiting Device, anotherwords the MRS), lets hope.

My only concern is that they maybe just a bit too much, and a night drive with them blazing away could be the equivilant of driving up to the pearly gates, if you catch my drift.

Has anyone seen this clip on YouTube of 100watt HID's fitted to Lightforce240's. Crikeee.

                YouTube-7 x 100watt Xenons, 82000 lumens

                cheers,

The example you speak of is here: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-GXL-D4D/page8

Pick them up at Bunnings, just make sure its 22mm. Credits to 8868 (Steve?) for the brilliant idea.

                      • Latest Mod

Did a change to the 120 recently,.....
A bit over a week ago, I traded her in on one of these.

I only had the FJ for 24hrs, then it was time to hit some trails with the SEQ Crew around Ormeau.
Shock horrow for the crew when I turned up in an FJ !!!

In another month once all the ARB gear comes into stock, the FJ should look quite different.
In standard form these FJ's are a very capable 4WD, I can see why the Americans luv them.
With plenty of clearance and awesome ramp over and departure angles.
Plus the A-Trac and Rear Diff lock is truly fantastic.
What it lacks though is the finesse and plush interior finish of the Prado along with no Duel Fuel tanks.
But I have plans to fix these things on FJ. For the $$$$ though, they offer great value and I am happy with it.

Some folk on here may say "what have you done?", but my allegiance is still strong with Pradopoint and Prado owners alike.
Underneath, the FJ really does share alot in common with the 150.
See you all the 2012GTG in SA.

                          • Nice work Stewy!

I am a fan of the new FJ.

The only thing that turns me off is the practicality of living with those rear doors (having a 20mth old one and one on the way, it just wouldn't work).

How do you find them so far?

And tell us more about the plans you have for it!

                            • Thanks for the Support. I do realise the FGay isn't everyones cup of tea.
The doors aren't really an issue for me, I dont have kids to worry about.
My biggest hate is the Fuel Capacity,...only 72ltrs,...which gives me a range of just over 500klms atm.

All of this though will be resolved soon.
On Order is New Suspension, ARB Bar, Snorkel, Long Range Fuel Tank and Underbody plates.

Then I can get round to fitting the other bits off the 120, like spots, UHF, OnBoard Compressor and Roof Rack and building my drawers and fridge slide. Hopefully all in time for he GTG.

                              cheers
