Hey guys..
This is my 95 Series GXL, in black (The only choice)...
2002 V6 Auto, purchased in Adelaide with 135,000 kms on the clock:
First up was the TX4400 which used to live in the dash of my surf - for expediency I chose not to modify the surround under the ashtray and fitted it up in the gap instead:
The aerial lead travels under the console and up behind the dash on the driver's side, then under the door sill and the seat belt, then up the B pillar and through the seal:
I haven't had any dramas with water getting in, despite several beatings with a high pressure hose at the car wash!
Then pulled out that horrid power-sapping flap in the main muffler - I've read posts where people claim not to hear the difference but on mine it sounds much more open, pulls harder and revs out more! (My fuel consumption has dropped too)
ARB Sahara bar, fitted up by ARB in Osborne Park - I requested that the fog light surrounds be painted too, which has made a big difference - but I can't help but wonder if the bar would have looked better in black? Also fitted, the obligatory IPF fogs (which are actually an awesome little light, the beam pattern is so wide and flat)
Also wired up the IPF 800XS Xtreme Sport lights from my surf.
Fitted up Rhino Commercial Bars too
Also using Phillips +70% Bulbs for the headlights which IMHO are better than the fatboys and less than half the price!
Next on the list is OME Suspension with the new Nitrocharger Sport shocks and struts - hoping to be the first 95s on PP to get the new gear!!
Anyway, more pics to come as the gear comes in - also on the shopping list is: Cargo Barrier, Snorkel, CKMA12 compressor and a rear diff lock (don't tell the handbrake!!)
EDIT - Compressor fitted
Just got the CKMA compressor fitted up by ARB Osborne Park, they did a superb job:
Bolted the baseplate on to the top of the wheel arch, happy with the location as it leaves room for the battery tray (and diff lock solenoids, shhh)
Cheers..
Jam.
