    Jacks 120

    I bought this about 5 weeks ago.. traded a Lemon of a G220 Fairlane in on it..

    its a 06 Turbo Diesel auto with 113 k on it.. paid $32 which i thought was a good deal.
    its stock as a rock at the moment tho i have Snorkel to put on it this weekend. and hopefully will get to get the Bar so i can fit the lights.. The Minister Of War And Finance is a little reluctant to let me touch this one.. as the last 4wd i bought her was a Dual cab SR5 and it ended up getting a snake racing 4" lift and 33's front and rear diff locks ...

    so she wont let me play with this one




    I actual managed to Pry the keys off the wife and take it to work for the first time this week.. but on the way i get Rear ended. And i thought i had trouble getting the keys off her before.. now i banned from driving "Her" car.. lol
    so

    This is what happens to a Prado when a VT Commodore runs into one

    But as u can imagine i have a wish list as long as my arm.. but the next things to go on will be lift and tyres..

      well its getting the two inch lift and a set of tyres.. tho she doesnt know its a lift.. lol

          Yeap. I came from an 88 tray back diesel lux that a decent breeze would cut back to 80km/h. Got it in some prettey hellish places too. Began falling apart though sadly. Nothing like the lift you had on your beast though. Damn but some days I miss it.

          The 120 Prado was a quantum leap forward in 4WD tech for me and I still put my foot down a little much in it to get a feel of that turbo power. Still drive out of carparks with the window down too so I can hear the turbo whistle. Heh.... geez what a fanatic........

            Ohh welcome to the wonderful world of Prado Point Jack!!

            PS Why don't you get SVS to fit the snorkel :shock: saves plenty of time and trouble :lol:

              i just spoke to Scott at SVS and he owes me one, so there going to fit it for Free.. ..

              and i miss my hilux. tho if u sneezed on it it felt like it wanted to roll... i think Joey may have even hung off the side of it on one 7 hills run.. to keep it on all fours.. lol

                well i went to Pedders to get my lift... I have heard a lot of complaints about them, but i have a mate that works there and they played around with the rear shock length to get a bit better travel.. And if im not happy with them at any stage they said to bring them back and they will get me any shock i like.. so cant complain.......... I will have to find the time to fit it in the next few weeks between 2 bucks parties a wedding and a trip to melb ...

                I ordered some Mickey Thompson MTZ.. just the usual 265/70/17 so they should be here soon as well...

                    Looks great Jack

                    I assume the above is a slight typo. Probably 265/70R17. I don't think they make a 265/75 MTZ but a good choice in rubber. A lot of them about these days.

                      Ahh yes that is a typo.. id better fix that....... The wife still doesn't know its a lift yet so .. that will be interesting when i fit it...

                        Hahaha, I know exactly how you feel IP - I had an 86 4runner, 2.4 straight diesel. 0 - 100km/h in 4 minutes! But I loved it. Then I jumped straight into a Prado - I pinch myself each time.

                        Hey Jack - what she doesn't know can't hurt her - just think of the times when she buys those clothes you never know about, then when you ask 'Is that new?' she says 'Nah, I've had it for aaaages!' Lies, all lies!

                        Good idea to get some of the big things out of the way first though!

                          this arvo i decided to fit the lift kit.. and after about an hr i got it all in.. but it was too dark to take a pick so ill post some up tomorow.. but found out that my tyres are shagged and it needs a new bash plate... ( allways wondered what the anoying little rattle was just too lazy to have a look.. typical mehcanics car..

                          so ill get some new rubber this week and a bash plate and throw up some pics

                            Finaly got my new tyres ( i mean the wifes ) fitted today... will post some pics up of it with the lift and new shoes on when i get home this arvo....
