    • Wholly Crap... That's some awesome flex..... And that's not even with the extended shockies...

I wish we had a taller garage so I could play with some of these goodies!!

      • thanks man.

I'm also working on a front sway bar disconnect system too. i actually have another 15mm-20mm of droop if i release the sway bar, only thing is, the CV's lock up due to the angle. I'm also trying to retrofit Monster Rides front diff drop arms, as they move the front diff forward a tad but drop it a full inch.

so much too do, so little time and no money left.

here is a pic of the rear extended braided brake line.
Haha you said gin sag. You must live in the Territory hey mate!!
I'm away again for another couple of weeks but would be great to catch up for a drive when I get back.

no worries mate. let me know when you're back in town. we're basically out for a drive almost every week end. would be good to have another prado along.

                • just a bit of an update, well, not much of one.

still waiting on my coil retaining brackets to turn up. these will hold the coil onto the diff as the new OME shocks i have will allow the coils to drop out of the upper mount.

when i get all the bits together, i will pull the coils and shocks out, fix the upper coil locator to the chassis so the coil has a locator to seat back into place.

I'm looking into getting a 4" rear coil made, but I'm still working on lengths and spring rates. i know approx what rate i want, but i also want its free height to be tall enough to not drop out on full droop either.

I'm also speaking to superior about making some rear upper control arms and an adjustable panhard for me too. the ride quality is so much better after having replace just the rear lower arms. it was amazing the difference they made. this is due to the bushes superior use in their arms, and compared the the standard Prado bushes, the Prado ones may as well be solid polyurethane bushes. using the larger rubber bush in the superior arms, the ride is much less harsh, and frees up a lot more movement and range of travel.

hopefully i get most of the rear end sorted in the next fortnight. can't wait.

                  • Great looking rig mate, what was your overall lift height in the end?

                    Comment

                    • front is at 835mm (full droop with sway bar is at 900, without is about 915)
rear is between 845-885 depending on load.

still tinkering around with the back.

                            • thanks for the kind words.

have had no computer or net access for a while. its still very very limited.

                              a few updates:

red arc solenoid fitted. replaced the ARB surepower unit. works a treat, highly recommended.

piranha digital dual battery monitor fitted as well as a new marine pro aux battery.

still no winch. although supercheap have a special going for the 9500lb wire cable winch at $350.

rear 4" long travel fitted. i'm using some 4" 'stacker' coils which sits the back at 4" and i am now running shocks with an open length of about 700mm. the stacker coils allow massive droop with the longer shocks, and still stay captive without needing to use coil spacers. the spring rate is the same as my old OME coils at about 300Lb.

its works beautifully and i am extremely happy with how its turned out. with about 200kg in the back, i still am not able to bottom out.

front now sits at 3.75" over standard, and the rear at 4" over standard with about 200kg in the back. i will adjust the front back up when i upgrade my front struts.

the mickey t's are almost at the end of their life, so i am shopping around for some new rubber in the new year. nothing smaller than a 33" this time around.

other than that, and a few tidy ups on some wiring, nothing new to report.

although i did have about 7" of water though the interior on boxing day. i ended up stripping all the interior out, hanging the carpet up overnight with a fan on it and some fans blowing through the interior as well. all dried up better than expected, and put everything back together again. i'm gonna try my hardest to not have to do that again. sucks d!ck.

hopefully i can get my sh!t sorted out in the new year and post up some new pics.

cheers all, all the best for the new year.
