    Re: BANKRUPT's 09 D4D

    Hi,

Just wondering if the 80L would fit this same setup with a cargo barrier installed? Do you have much room between the seat and the handle of the Waeco.

Looking at getting a 80L Waeco next week, any feedback would be appreciated.

      Hi Omni

Sorry for the long lead time to reply...I haven't been able to be on here for a while.

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't. My seats recline to the first position before they hit the handle. It is this way intentionally as I wanted it as far back ()towards front of car) as possible so that my table etc on the door didn't foul the front of the fridge.

I've got the 110 Litre WAECO in the back of mine .... and the boys have no problems with being able to recline the seats (perhaps not all the way - but enough tfor them to be comfortable).

        Cheers

          Hi Bankrupt,

Just wondering if you had to adjust your front suspension after you fitted the ARB Bullbar? If so, what did you change and are you still getting the same measurements pre-bullbar?

          Cheers

            Hey Bankrupt,

One more question for you, I'm looking into the same roof rack as your - tracklander. Does it fit onto the standard rails that come with the GXL or does it NEED its own rails? Reason why I'm asking is I would have preffered to mount it onto the stock rail and remove it if I'm not using it but still have the stock rails for the looks

Also would you recommend it? Is it sturdy etc? Any help would be great!

Yeah, it's on the top setting. Mind you I opted for the slightly softer coil at the front so that it was nicer on the body and welds.
I also have a dual battery set-up, lights and antenna on the front like most I suppose so its about +85kg all up over the nose. Rides nice, no complaints at all.

It comes with its own mounts. The factory rails get deleted.

I know its a pain to remove / reinstall but you get the increased clearance (big issue if you're raised and visit undercover carparks) and its stronger.
Tracklander also assured me tha tbeing closer to the roof meant for a quiter rack as well.

I must say it's definately not the rack you want to install and then pull off. It's two person job and is fidly. I reckon you'd end up scatching the roof etc so much you'd only do it once or twice.

I thought of pulling mine off, but now I'm used to it and it comes in handy for that Saturday morning trip to Bunnings. Afterall no point having a perfectly good roof rack there if it never carries anything Mrs disagrees...typical!

Up under the dash (Vertically). I bought some metal strap from Bunnings, bent it up, teck screwed it into place and then mounted the CB to it. THe cord runs down the console and out under the bottom whilst in use and then gets tucked under when no longer required. Handpiece then gets stored in the glovebox.

Nah not experimenting I crunched it on a Pradopoint outing...looking forward to making some steel ones over the christmas break to replace them.

New seats in the front will be my next mod I think...something with more support...I'm only small and I feel like I'm sitting on the couch.

Well it's been a while but I've finally got around to getting some replacement steps:

AJ120 helped out with some steel jobbies:

Have also ordered front and rear lockers and the new ARB Twin Head CKMTA12 air compressor.

Will be fitting it up as soon as it and the battery tray, in which I hope to fit it arrives so stay tuned.
