      Re: Keithy's New Prado

Any way continuing along the pathway of leaving the prado alone I have made some drawers!!!
Installed cargo barrier and started finding bolt holes.

Bolting frame into floor holes and seat hinge holes.

      Wiring in Blue Tongue compressor.

After heaps of measuring fitted Engel water tank and fridge+slide behind cargo barrier without hitting door!

      Final measurements before trimming.

      Final product.Happy bride!

Looks good there Keith. You mention an Engel Water tank. Didn't know they make them.

I see you went MDF. How water resistant is that?

Are there runners for the drawers or just across the MDF?

BTW It looks real professional, especially that finishing angle strip and the handles look pretty cool.

Thanks schaffer,we are pretty happy with how they turned out.I didnt know engel made tanks either until i stumbled across it.I wanted something food grade and trimmed in carpet and this was.Went MDF for couple of reasons-it lasted ok on last install in previous patrol, and doesnt twist and warp like some ply.Only used MDF on deck and drawer face for that reason rest is ply as much better for gluing and screwing.I just used that L shape pine for skids for drawers to save on rattles and money but it was faultless for us previously also. All up drawers owe me less than $200 .This leaves me more dollars for future mods I hope to show!Glad u like.

            Re: Keithy's New Prado

Still have been busy with Prado in last week installing dual battery and shower set up.

Used new lower voltage Redarc to open charging earlier.

After Redarc ran everything through fuse block and then through large grommet in firewall.

            Squeezed shower pump in here.

Mounted heat exchanger on radiator shroud tabs. Thanks for ideas from previous posts.

Used unicoils to eliminate kinks on bends.

Still to do : Interior stuff now that I have installed 2nd battery.

Now that you mention it Madkore, it is slightly huge isn't it? Just thought it was a good idea the way it was fused from the terminal and because you liked it so much, thought I'd show you again!

Really tidy work there Keith. I like the way you have used the split-tube to clean-up the wires on the top of your new fuse block - labelled too!

                        Hi Keith,

How accessible are the battery cell caps for when you check the cell acid level and capacity with a hydrometer? It sort of looks a little restrictive with that fused terminal cover.

I don't have a Century battery but it has the same cap and the way I used to have it was difficult to remove the caps.

I installed fire extinguisher next to back seat

Wiring starting to get a bit tight through firewall but installed electric brake controller, uhf radio &gps

This is why i need poly air bags and my electric brakes
