Evening all. Been reading Pradopoint for while now and decided it's time for another 90 series. This is the families 2001 GXL 3.4 auto. It's white, like a good 4 wheel drive should be, well that's what my 10 year old daughter says. Put it on LPG soon after purchase. Had some ups and down with that exercise but after some time have iron out the bugs. Some of the other things done so far
dual battery
ARB Sahara bar
Brown Davis bash plate
Cargo barrier
Auto transmission cooler
Ridpro springs and shockers
Kaymar spare wheel spacer
rear work/reverse light
Cooper STT's 265/75
Home made bash plate for the LPG tank.
The rear light is wired so it can be turned on when ever you want, or automatically comes on when in reverse. Thanks to Leachy 9 for the wiring tip on that one. Spacer is the Kaymar, but the light is home made. $120 for the spacer was ok, but $200 plus for Kaymar light was a little extreme I thought.
The LPG tank sits about an inch lower than the standard petrol tank. The installer use the original tank cover over the top of the LPG tank. The first trip out bush pretty much hammered the cover hard against the tank. I already had the Brown Davis bash plate and knew how much better the 3mm plate was over standard. The Toyota bash plates were pretty ruined by the time I'd got the Brown Davis. As such I got some 3mm plate and bent up the cover for the LPG tank. And yes, I've put some 3/4 inch holes in the bottom to drain mud and water. Haven't painted it yet as I cant decide on the silver
or black.
Still sitting on the work bench is a half completed shovel/axe holder for the spare. On the drawing board is some sliders and drawers for the rear. Coming soon are spotties and the UHF. It never ends
Drawers were completed several weeks ago. The top, bottom and sides are 15mm ply and the drawers themselves are 12mm.
I used the third row seat captive nuts in the floor to secure the drawers to.
Yes I should of gone for the grey coloured carpet. You see I live between two Bunnings stores, both are about 15 minutes away. The store I went to only had the blue and I couldn't be bothered driving to the other store. Anyway, those with a sense of colour and fashion will be aware that there's dashes of the same blue in the seat fabric. That's what my misses told me anyway.
Couple of shots of my battery set up. Nothing flash, but it hasn't snapped off and fallen into the fan.
A little untidy, but I'm in the process of cleaning things up.
