G'day guys, first post here... have been inspired by many of your rig build ups!! Picked up a 09 ex demo grande as the toyota dealers were getting rid of old stock before the new 150's came in last year. Here she is...





Car was bought stock standard and have so far fitted a Hayman Reece towbar and in the coming weeks will be going to town, adding a ARB Deluxe winch bar, Warn XDC9.5k winch, IPF XS900 spotties, BFG AT''s, Dual battery system, Safari snorkel and installing some sort of drawer system or fridge slide to accommodate the the 80L Engel I picked up at the boxing day sales. Also in the pipeworks is a suspension upgrade, UHF, roof rack and a few other bits n pieces.

Will post more pics as it progresses....

Looks just great Steve, sounds like you and I did the same thing.

Which state are you in? It may make it easier for folks around here to recommend good sites or dealers, etc if you update your profile and add in your location.

Hello Steve.
This is one mod I thoroughly recommend.I recently fitted a Beaudesert exhaust to my 05 TD Grande. This has made an instant change in the performance and driveability of our old bus. Tows better, pulls harder, less turbo lag, uses less fuel, makes more noise ( really sh*ts off the Missus). I love it.

I really like the ability to change the suspension settings from inside the cab, it is one of my favourite things with this car. Set it to hard for highway cruising and fast winding roads, full soft for speed bumps at the shopping centre, local pot-holed roads and off road tracks, also found that hard works well on sand. Still extremely capable in difficult terrain.I would upgrade the springs first before changing the shockers. Height adjustment is handy as well. I set it to low when I attatch the car trailer or camper, hardly ever have wind the jockey wheel down onto the ball, jack it up to high and pull up the jockey wheel. If I am towing the camper down into a fairly steep washout, get to the bottom, drop the suspension to lift the back of the camper up, gives a couple of inches of clearance with the back of the camper when you start to crawl out the other side. Simple.

If you can, have a drive of a few other suspension modified Prados/ fourbys before you go down this road. All my other cars have modified suspensions but I will not touch the Toyota (well not yet anyway).
