  • Hi Andrew
I like that last shot, really throwing some good light into the cargo area.
I must try the D/S tape on mine found that the trim moulding is hard to get anything to stick to, maybe its had an over dose of amour-all in the past.
    Cheers Troy

    • I'm pretty sure I've said it before but this is my favorite 120 build, love the ideas. You're the ideas Man Andrew

I'm thinking of mounting an 150-300W inverter somewhere at the back, could you suggest a good location for this?

Thanks for the compliment. To be honest though; most of my ideas are inspired by others on the forum and modified to suit my individual needs (or blatantly copied) or things I have seen on other peoples 4b's. I try only to steal the best ideas though

I have sent you a PM in regards your inverter question.

Edit: I have added a few pics out and about from our trip to the 2011 GTG in QLD, no point in posting and not having pics for people to look at!

        Cheers Andrew

I finally got sick of shifting this project around the shed so I put a bit of time aside and got it finished (almost). I used the hydraulic press I made a while back as a folder. It is only to repalce the rear bash plate but extends back to the gearbox crossmember. All made from 3mm Galv sheet, bolts are all recessed and fit to the original mounting points. Hopefully it will go to the powder coaters later this week with the latest batch of sliders.

Then all I have to do is make a plate to replace the front bashplate, hopefully a bit quicker than this one!

                    Cheers Andrew

The outback ideas style recovery points that many are familiar with are attached with 2 bolts, the ARB brackets are attached with 3 bolts, mine will be attached with 4 bolts giving me what I believe to be a very strong recovery point with a “10,000lb rated” recovery hook attached.

Hi Andrew, As always, love your work. Been a while since I fitted the ARB Bar so can't remember, do you have to remove the bar completely to get these brackets off or is there a way to remove them with minimal dismantling?

                        • Bashplate is back form the powder coaters and fitted. With a shiny new rear bashplate fitted it makes the front bashplate look pretty ordinary, might have to try and get the front one done a bit quicker than this one!

                          Cheers Andrew

Good question, I didn't weigh it but doing the maths tells me it should weigh 14kg which seems about right judging by feel, just weighed the old plate and that is 3.5kg (my scales only measure in half kilo increments) so 10.5kg extra, but heaps more coverage and much stronger.

                                Cheers Andrew
