Thanks for sharing some photos of your adventures this year Andrew, the photos gives us all inspiration to get out there and test out what mods we have done to our rigs and enjoy Australia from a dirt track. Some of those photos should be entered in the photo comp, well done.

Glad you all enjoyed the pics, I have a number in the comp and added a couple, 2 and 24 just now. Already have 2 in the desert section so 9 might have to wait for next year. I only got that pic the other day from one of the other guys on the Madigans trip, would have entered that one if I had it sooner.
No point in wasting a post and not adding pics, so a few more to finish off.

Roof Console
Still a fair way from finished but I don't want Trekky thinking I am copying him, so just a few pics to show I started mine first

It will house 2 x UHF's. the remote head for my HF, still retain the the original lights and sunglasses holder and most important of all a Hat Saver for my Akubra that some of you who have met me may have noticed I don't go anywhere without
And before someone asks, yes I have a template, in fact I made templates and spindle cut all the shapes so I can accurately reproduce more of these.
I have an industrial sewing maching sitting in the shed that I was given, still contemplating whether to have a go at upholstering it myself.

Neither, I cut the hole large enough for the the tabs to go straight in. I plan to route a recess across the face and put a stip of 2mm aluminium there so the light can be inserted in much the same way it is now. Having the other end "clip in" is a bit too hard so I will make allowance for a couple or screws through the back of the sunglasses holder which should be discreet.Originally posted by Trekrider View PostHey Andrew, What did you do about the three white plastic tabs on the back of the front interior light - did you cut them shorter or cut slots in the plywood to fit them?
Similar plan with the other light, remove the lense and globe then screw it in place, replace globe and lense and you never know the difference. My intention is that if it is ever removed it can be returned to standard without any issues.
