Silvo's Silver 2010 150 GXL, D4D, Auto

Ok cool. Have you scraped much offroad without lift? Trying to weigh up if lift is necessary at this stage compared to just getting some airbags in the back to prevent sag.

Where did the valves for the airbags get mounted Dan? Photos?

i haven't scraped excessively.. but them i haven't done that much offroad. I'll send you a video link Sam.

i haven't mounted the air valves yet. i did look in the cover that others with 120's have used (the spare wheel windy cover) but i couldn't see how to easily mount the valves.

i've recently mounted my compressor in the drawer system, so i'm thinking of running the air lines up into that compartment and making a small hose, but, that probably wouldn't be easy to use. at the moment they are just cable tied to the anderson plug next to the trailer plug.

I notice there seems to be a slight bend upwards(where else) in the drivers side step, is that the new steps?
Who did the elec work with all the plugs in the useless little hole in the wall, was that ARB?
My GX 150 has no steps as standard and have been told not possible because the side airbags will be compromised, do you have any info on that as my wife will appreciate steps.
How do you incorporate the Scribe at the bottom of your Posts showing the rig build up?

I had the factory steps taken off and a set of Oz Auto Quip Side Steps installed by Loadrail in Newcastle last week.

The team at Loadrail were fantastic. i had the camper on the truck still, as we were on our way to Knorrits Flat.

I drove the thing in, with the camper, they installed them, 20 minutes later i drove out. Some pics here for you.







I'll try to get a better pic of the steps side on, without the camper, but it's pouring with rain at the moment here.

I got a black widow drawer system in the Jackaroo that I want to take out. There is a kit available for the 150 and I can fit it into the Prado. So its good to see photos of yours.


What have you got attached to the plastic on your rear door, I can see the plastic getting damaged and scratched in no time and I want to protect it..

re Plastic rear door trims

After my Cape York trip the Plastic on the rear door is awfully scratched, looks terrible.
I like the Carpet stuff you have. Did you adhere, glue or attach somehow with Velcro which are attached to the plastic?

My frontal sag is 35mm after the Sahara Winch bar, winch and HID lights were attached. The front of the 150 was soft at first so softer now.
Ok round town but will probably get a lift soon.

one of the reasons I invested in a Black Widow drawer system and I have had it 9 year, is that you only buy it once and then it will fit in subsequent cars.The wing kit is $395.
Jackaroo, Prado, Pajero, Outback use the same length and width draws, with different wing kits. For Patrol and Landcruiser the drawers are 100mm longer, from memory. Aside from a bit from a very minor bit of tlc like a vacuum and a retighten of a few screws and nuts etc its been trouble free, just brilliant.

guys - some photos to come tomorrow.

i've got a copy of the black widow fold down table attached to my rear door - so my plastic is protected a bit when the door is closed. this is a piece of MDF covered in marine ply, on some hinges, and a bit of strap to stop it falling down. this was glued to the timber. i'll post some pics about this now.

yes, the drawers for the patorls and cruisers are 1000mm long, so 100mm long in total.

ok, so i didn't give the detail on here about the fold down table i have on the back door. here it is.

my rear door plastic was scratched from day 3 of owning it, when a gas bottle rolled across the back and smacked the door. ah well..



i used little knobs - unsure what they are called officially - purchased from bias boating. these hold the table in the upright position. They are drilled straight into the door frame, so into metal.


You can see the elastic loop that holds it up.

nice job, what sort of hinges are they? So they just screwed into metal or are they bolts with nuts on the other side?
