nice job, what sort of hinges are they? So they just screwed into metal or are they bolts with nuts on the other side?

"awesome a baby change table" my wife just said.

baby change table - that is one of the main uses for me. every trip out. currently supporting 10kg 1 year old.

the hings are plastic, picked up bias boating as well. note, although there are 2 in the picture, i had to add a 3rd in the middle to support the weight and stop if from bowing there.

all screws go into the metal subframe (rear door) to help take the weight.

How does the colour coded bull bar stand up against stones etc? Does the paint chip?

howdy, it seems to stack up OK. i've pulled the antenna off and moved it to the other mount, while doing so i scratched it a little, and it still looks nice and silver below. i'm presuming chips would be the same..

Added iPhone cradle. Made by Smoothtalker, it charges and has extended antenna at the same time, nice for off the track so i can still get Myswag.






And also the side step photos as requested, and how it mounts to the chassis.

Looks like those 150's have a gas strut of sorts holding open the back door - is that right?

yeah, but the door is so heavy it doesn't work properly half the time.

yeah, two inches will do me nicely, but probably not until next year when the bank account settles down again, and the suspension has sagged to the point it's annoying me.

You showed some pics of an installation you had done with replacement Steel side steps I think.

i cleaned the bum of the Prado up a little today and removed that sightly wheel cover. much better!

Not hard, although i damaged the lock nut. It just bent when i tried to loosen it. Toyota want a nice sum of $150 for it. I swiftly swore at the bloke.

Here are a couple of sneak peeks..







These are the prototypes, the final product will be a higher quality material.

I put mine back on today. Noticed that with the 275/65/R17's the inside of the tyre was rubbing on the back door so I put the backing plate and cover back on.

I went for a higher wall, not a wider tyre, so i've checked mine and the 265's seem ok still.

The original plate i had made for the anderson plug was starting to surface rust. Just in time, as i was lucky enough to have my father-in-law make up a plate from stainless for his, so i scored one as well. also gave me a nice spot to mount the air valves for the polyairs.
