  • Joffy's 95s Kimberley

Stock as a rock, one owner, full Toyota Service history, 120000klm's 2000GXL Kimberley.

All of these Modifications have been done at home by me under the trusty carport.

First modd only took one day. All important frontal protection.
    ARB Winch bar and Spotlights.

A dual battery set up from "Piranha", comprising of a DBE 150S management system,

First had to relocate the charcoal canister to make some room.

A new "Piranha" tray for the 8"cranking battery, this required lengthing of the standard battery cables. Remote breathers for the diff's

Fuse block up high on the fire wall.

A new "Piranha" tray for the 12" ALLROUNDER 105A/H second battery. This tray sits on the original battery cradle and fully supports the bigger battery. The allrounder is a cranking and deep cycle battery allowing it to be used for starting if needed.

Not much room left on this side of engine bay now.

Next came some storage. Home made cargo draws. Made from a design by a guy called Dave Jones.

A removeable pannel above "Piranha" fridge slide provides a flat floor for day to day use.

On a pivot supported by gas struts. This allows fully laden fridge to slide out to full extension then be raised or lowered with the struts couteracting the weight of the Waeco 50L fridge.

Now its Time for a lift. An OME suspension kit, came at a price to good to refuse. A set of Cooper ST's were fitted the next day.
      OME 881 SPRINGS, N91S STRUTS.

OME891 SPRINGS, POLYAIR BAGS, N86 SHOCKS.

OME shock guards. These have paid for them selves. They are dented and bent but have saved the shocks from damage. They have also saved the lower shock mounting bolts from damage.

Placement of valves for airbags, just inside back door keeps them safe from damage but easy to get to.

      Before lift.

After lift. Total Lift was 50mm in Front, 45mm in rear. Front springs also rated to carry a winch ( on the wish list)

      Some Flex shots.

Suspension now has 40,000klm on it. including a 10000km central aus trip. Suspension has preformed without fault. Only criticism is because i dont have a winch fitted front springs are a bit stiff, not flexing as well as they could. Will see what happens when a wingh is fitted.

Interior is pretty Standard. Just got the essentials.
A Belkin IPOD FM modulator for some tunes,
A universal windscreen mounted cradle for Magellan hand held GPS.

Also added a CARCOMM External Areial/charger cradle for Nokia N95 plus a blueant bluetooth hands free kit.

A GME tx3200 UHF with a remote speaker located in the empty speaker hole that kind mister toyota provided.

An ARB Hi output Compressor mounted under the drivers seat.

A drop down table for lunches on the run. Made out of marine ply and then coated with Clear Lacquer to protect it and provide some hygene. Table only this big so that the fridge and draws can be open at the same time.

            Very nice!

Love the colour! (same as mine), check mine out here viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4828

Got any more pics or details of the gas strut setup for the slide? I'd be interested in doing something like this, but for a drop saw which I carry for work.

Hey xlr8. My mate has 100 series in same colour, we have both nicknamed it "Toyota scratch green" as it seems to show up bush pinstriping realy well.
In answer to the fridge slide, i dont have any pics yet, will take some soon as draws have been removed from the car.
