So far I am very impressed buy the car. Today I spent a bit of time applying some good polish and wax to seal up that new paint.I look forward to getting out there and making it dirty and doing a few mods.

Nice wheels. I have one exactly the same, since December and it's brilliant. Cant fault it. Did you get the offroad pack or the auto cruise?

My weekend away in the Kakadu

I have just spent the last 3 days at ledge point caravan park and had some fun driving along every single beach or bit of sand I could find. I also headed to lancelin in the dunes and along the beach (very soft) and am VERY impressed by the 150's all round ability. One particular beach at Lano had cars bogged everywhere I rescued a couple of cars then thought stuff this Im outa here as more came on and got bogged. I found an embankment to try the crawl function and fark me its impressive noisy but impressive. I pulled a Windsor rapid off road van as well (only on the bitumen not in the sand) and averaged 17.9 Lp100k's. I also got to use my Air Devil air compressor bought out of the western 4x4 magazine (latest edition) for $295 and that was very very good I did all four tyres from 18-44 psi in about 7 minutes I was next to a guy using his compressor who managed 1 tyre in the same time..All in all very happy very family friendly and off road so far very impressive.

Hey matey, great pics. I have the same car as you - Silver Kakadu, I too went exploring in the hills around Gladstone yesterday and had a ball. They are a great car but one thing that did happen was when I was going up the dirt range a warning light came on saying the transmission was too hot, pull over in a safe place and turn the car off. I did this and it didn't come back on. I had 4 adults and two kids in the car with picnic gear, bit of a load but I still wouldn't expect this to happen???
I rang Toyota today and they said the expert was in Brisbane and would be back Friday if I could call then. The bloke on the phone said he had heard something about this but not first hand.

Its appears to be common I didn't get any overheat lights come on which did surprise me as the van was 1400kg with a car full etc but I did use the gears a bit not letting it labour as its still very new..

Hi Guys....just reading the issue of the transmission overheating light coming on the 150s...there is plenty of talk on the 150 transmission etc threads about this. I suspect you already know, but just in case. It appears not to be actual overheating but rather electronics coming on suggesting its overheating and I think Toyota where going to recalibrate or upgrade the tranny software (or something) to work better so this doesn't happen. I think you had to go in and actually tell your dealer whats going on as Toyo won't do a recall on it.

Just an update, I have so far put 7000ks on the Kakadu and love it. As far as family wagons go it has everything we would ever want in a car and then some. I have put on a nice tint, Chrome door handles, changed the grand craps to Yokahama Geolander G12's (great tyre so far) and tommorrow a set of new wheels 18x8" ...no not every hardcore diehards cup of tea but I like them and they are 4x4 rated CSA's and very well finished.
