  • Walkabout's Norwegian LC120

    Hello! Really nice forum you got here. A lot of nice rides, sure very different from what I'm used to here in Norway!

    Visited Western Australia (Perth)a few years ago, and it was like heaven with all those Landcruisers (or Prado, as you call it as well). You sure got an eye for rough modifications, here in Norway we seldom see this, expect of the huge Arctic Trucks 35".

    I got a top model Prado 2005 model, including original navi, leather interior, no reseve wheel at the back door, etc. All equipments expect of TEMS. This is only two-seated, because we have a strange and rare rule in Norway. If you use a car as "work car" with a room that is at least 105x90x140 cm, you only pay 27% of the taxes on the car. And the tax goes down year by year, so after 10 years you can put the seats back again for free.

    So I only got a two-seater. Had to pay almost 80.000 AUD for this one two years ago, then driven 45.000 kilometers. If I should have bought the same caras an 8-seater I think I would have to pay 110.000 AUD. Probably funny for you to read about, I'm sure you aren't used to these kind of rules other places in the world.

    Anyway, this is a bit "pimp my ride", but I stick to the 17" wheels. Don't like 22" rims on this type of car, then I'd bought some BMW or something instead!

    Modifications:

    * TTE chip (from 166 to 210 hp. This is a 3 liter diesel).
    *iPod-connection
    * Visor in the front
    * Viser for front and back windows
    * "Black" windows
    * Rear spoiler
    * Projector headlights with LED and angel eyes
    * LED front fog lights
    * Clear LED taillights
    * Clear rear LED foglights
    * Red brake calippers
    * White LED for rear license plate
    * Chrome cover for door handles and mirror
    * White LED lights in all doors
    * Low front guard (only one accepted due to EU regulations)
    * 17" Incubus Devil rims with 265/70-17 BFG All-Terrain
    * New floor mats in same clour as the interior
    * Kicker 1000:1 with 2x12 Kicker subwoofer

    Nice - I quite like the wheels.

    Do the shiny stud looking things around the rim serve any purpose, or other they just decoration ?
    Cheers, Wayne

          Awesome ride. The angel eyes look really good. I like how it's pumped but still has an off road feel. Nice choice of wheels!

            Looks good there Walknabout. Out of curiosity, does the rear door swing out or lift up? The door on the Aussie model swings out but then we have the spare mounted on it.

                    Thanks for comments!

                    Haha, you mean the wheels, owapet2? It is actually illegal to drive in the "outback" here in Norway. If you want to, you have to get approval from the owner of the land. And the nature here is quite different than in Australia, it is so much wood and forest with lots of trees, so if it isn't some rough made tracks or anything like that you won't be able to pass all the trees. But in the highland it is easier, especially in the winter, but that is 600 kilometer away from the south, where I live.

                    The door still swings out, Schaffer. It is exactly the same, just without the spare mounted on it.

                    Some pictures of the interior attached.
