  • 150 series DIY shelving

I couldn't find much in the way of what other people had done to their 150 series to add extra storage for camping, so I just blundered my way along and did my own.

I'll add these photos for anyone else looking for ideas.

I removed the 2nd row of seats in my VX, but left the third row in place. The final total was 9 "big" bits of wood plus three small "shelf ends". It dismantles into flat sheets (with small brackets attached) so it doesn't take up too much storage in between uses. It is held togather with about 40 M6 screws, and a few M10 bolts. It just took me about 30 mins to remove the woodwork, and another 30 mins to reinstall the 2nd row of seats. Installation mght be about the same, or slightly longer.

and here it is in the simpler "I just want to take the fridge" mode. (2nd row seats folded down just to get a good view of the turnbuckle front tie-downs).

The eye bolts on the floor are 10mm metric fine thread and replace two of the seat mount bolts. Standard 10mm eye bolts are metric coarse thread and metric fine are hard to find and/or expensive. The result was I made my own by getting some 10mm eye nuts and drilling the thread out. I then bought some 50mm x 10mm metric fine bolts, cut the heads off and welded them inside the eye nuts.

Thanks for sharing. Another good but different approach.

I dont have any bolt holes in those locations in my VX, bugger, that would have been great!
