I flew down to Brisbane yesterday and picked up the new machine.
It was sitting at the front entrance of the dealership ready to go ... except that it didn't have the aftermarket tyres and wheels on it that it was supposed to. Hmmm. After a bit of frantic searching through paperwork (the guy I had been dealing with was away on holidays) they found the details, contacted the tyre place and had the new wheels fitted and ready to go in about an hour. I had all day so it was no big deal and they ended up filling up both tanks with diesel for me for the inconvenience (one tankful was already part of the agreement).
So here are the details.
It is a 2010 GX D4D in Glacier White and currently has the following accessories fitted by the dealer:
TJM T13 steel winch bar
Hayman Reece Towbar
OME suspension
Airtec snorkel
Tinted windows
Speedy Avalanche 17 x 7.5" wheels
BFG AT 265 70 R17 tyres
Sandgrabba floor mats
Bonnet and headlight protectors
And black duck canvas seat covers for the rear seat which I fitted myself when I got home this afternoon.
I only have one picture and it is not very good so will try to get some more another time.
I am super happy with the vehicle - it looks awesome, much better than I expected, expecially with the larger tyres and the suspension lift. It is a nominal 50mm lift but I reckon it is substantially more than that. I expect it will settle when I get the winch, second battery and cargo drawers fitted.
Compared to my 90 series it is a massive step up - so much bigger inside, more standard features, heaps more grunt, etc. The 6 hour drive back to Gladstone today was a breeze.
Mods still to come:
Blackwidow cargo drawers and 1/2 cargo barrier. The drawers from the 90 series fit using an adaptor kit from blackwidow.
Dual battery (from 90 series)
Winch (from 90 series)
Roofrack - it was originally ordered with an ARB deluxe alloy roofcage but I realised it probably wouldn't fit in the garage so I had to cancel that. I am now looking at a Rackmaster rack from Opposite Lock (these appear to be the windcheater rack from Dolium)
In-dash GPS (looking to see if one of the models from Dig Options will work in the GX)
I think I might have to get side steps fitted as well. It is so tall the kids have trouble climbing in.
