OK. I have gotten one quote for a rear wheel carrier, just waiting to see if another PP member can get me one too.. (wink wink)
Mainly just for the fact that the back of the car will be stronger if i back into something, or slide down a hill, and the high lift jack points are a big plus too.
Then off to the panel beater after that i guess.
2004 Prado GXL. v6 auto, ARB deluxe bar, exhaust, 2" EFS lift kit, Outback Acc rear bar,
rallye 2000 spots, roof mount dvd, dig_options stereo, toyota roof bars.
    More to come!

Dropped in there today Tim... Asked the question for you about a rear wheel carrier withoutthe stubs and it's confirmed that it's no problem. Got distracted with a few other things and got off topic forgetting to ask the other relevant question LOL... I'll be back there sometime in the morn...

re: Surf. Cheers. It was an awesome car that went anywhere I wanted, but was getting a little old, and I wanted something better for touring and everyday driving.
The guy I bought it off is on here now too...
Aftermarket Door? I guess you could get an import model, where the spare was underneath, and then steal the door.
My door will be staying the standard type. Replaced maybe, but normal. Bumper will be changing.

re: Sticker. Ordered them off Team Piggy I think...

                  hehe Ta mate.
Off to the panel beater this morning for a quote, and to see how flexible they will be too.
insurance wants me to book it in straight away, but i might wait first.

                    OK.
Got the car inspected by panel beater this morning... They don't seem bothered by things that I am, like the paint on my fuel tank guard.
However the panel beater says he is happy to work with me on changing to a steel bumper.
Then later in the arvo, he rang me and said this tuesday (thats quick) the insurance assessor wants to see the car to sign off on getting repairs started, but they wont have to start straight away... Hopefully.
Confusing me. But will see what I can get, to get the car "back to the condition before the crash" according to insurance.

Is there any reason why your GXL badge is in a different spot to normal?

Not sure... Always been there as far as I can remember...
I have noticed a few in different spots, and the toyota logo also in different spots.
                          meh.
or maybe mine is the only one in the normal spot, and all of you guys are wrong... :P

Nice build there Tim. Like you I've seen the badges in different positions too. Many years ago I got rear ended and they had to put a new tailgate on my hatchback - the guy doing the repair swapped the badges left to right - no idea why.

The bighorns are pretty good. Sure you can hear them at anything above about 80ish, but if you have the radio on you can't hear it - so not too noisy, also because the rest of the car is silent.
I find them very grippy too - especially over the grandcraps that the car came with.
I had bighorns on my surf as well, they replaced some BFG a-t's. I found them just as noisy as those.
The main reason I went with them this time was just the price to be honest - 269 each I think. I want the Mickey T ATZ, but at 380-390 each that I was quoted, I couldn't justify the extra. Maybe next time.
