  • My SEMA Build Up Featured on Lightforce Site

     Mates,

I know I haven't Written a full build up of my rig yet, but here is a link to the Lightforce site where our own Snaga took pictures of the FJ while crossing California's Mojave Desert.

    Enjoy!

    http://www.lightforce.com/latest-news/32

Here is a list of work done and mods.

Here is what I've done to the FJ in the past 2 months. Basicly everything on the FJ that is showing is either freshly painted, wrapped, or replaced. This includes ALL plastic parts, rubber moldings, parts, and even 1/2 of the glass (alonf with the headlights are the only old parts showing). All aftermarket parts have been replaced with new. Essentally it's a complete rebuild.

    Ben,

The FJ sure looks the part, a very interesting build indeed.
Do ya plan to keep this way?
Glad to hear that our own local Snaga was there to be a part of it.

    Cheers

He made my rig look good! Lightforce wants more pics (and feel free to post some here too Leon)

I will keep it that way for a while. I have about 8 off-roading events I have to go to to promote MAXTRAX mostly on the West Coast of the US. I think I will ship it there and fly out for each event to keep from having to drive back and forth each time.

The FJ is an easy truck to make look good... even easier after we had finished with it

I've got to find time to process all the images from the trip!! So many ...
I need to make a time laps of the build... although Brads vids would do that better and get some more action/scenery shots as well.

Thanks for the blank canvas Ben... nice brief I had... drive car to as many locations as possible and take photo's of it
        Cheers, Leon

            Looks good Leon...keep 'em coming.

BTW Lightforce is looking for a landscape picture to use in a poster in an upcoming 6 poster series. Let Brad or I know what you can come up with.

            Cheers,

            -Ben

It looks like my FJ is Zombie Apocalypse approved.....

              Stolen from It's STM yo!.

              SEMA Zombie Battle

              By: Jim DeGuzman

Here’s my friends Jim DeGuzman’s write up for the event. I told him he has a free range to write whatever he wanted and he was happy to do so. He’s a good friend of mine and has good experience in the automotive world having had a clean fixed up G35, street machine WRX wagon and others i probably don’t know about. but enough about him and back to the write up. (Billy S.)

The Zombie Apocalypse, or Z-Poc, is upon us. Our world is inching ever closer to the inevitability that the dead will rise and wreak havoc upon us. With nothing but a craving for brains, they are unstoppable and unrelenting. I know most of us already have a plan for when that day comes; where to go for shelter, where to get food, and where to get guns. That place is Wal-Mart! However, no one really talks about what we should drive when hordes of zombies come bearing down our streets ready to consume in mass quantities. Fortunately, here at SEMA, there was nothing but an abundance of skull-crunching mobile fortresses in which to take that ride to survival.

Upon arriving at the show, a bevy of classics, imports, and exotics fill your view but what really caught my eye were these 3 heavily-outfitted, snorkel-wearing, big-tired monsters. You want your vehicle of choice to be capable of going anywhere, carry anything, and withstand a rush of the mindless undead.
The Toyota Tundra Sportsman was created with the help of Bass Pro Shops as a mobile hunting platform and what could be more appropriate when trying to take out a slow-moving zombie with your Barrett 50 caliber sniper rifle? The bed of the truck has been customized to hold a ton of gear including fishing supplies, clothes, and food. I would make use of the space by making it more of an armory and less of an armoire. Although the lack of cages around the windows makes it easier to get into, the sheer amount of guns and ammo you can stick in the back can keep you zombie-free for at least a hundred meter radius!

This Maxtrax FJ Cruiser sacrifices load capacity for maneuverability. The snorkel system can help you ford 3-foot deep water while being chased by products of George Romero’s imagination. The roof rack is capable of holding extra gasoline canisters and your other supplies. I would keep the guns in easy reach and place them in the back.

The AOE 4×4 Jeep Wrangler gives you the best of the previous two as it serves as a mobile sniping platform and a maneuverable and agile vehicle. The winch allows you to rescue yourself when stuck in the mud and the tent on top has enough space for you and Milla Jovovich.

So make your choice! Whether it’s a fast and furious vehicle or an armored behemoth just make sure that you carry lots of ammo! See you guys at SEMA again next year!

              -Jim DeGuzman
