I've just acquired this 2000 90series gxl as of late Nov 2010.

its all stock except for the work signs and the duel fuel.

Heres a few pics of when i first got it...




And a parking job im quite proud of...


Spent the first few days of owning it removing the stock stereo and installing a 7" touch screen dvd/gps/revers camera combo. Also 6x9 pioneer speakers in the front.

First real mod will be a steel bar and winch.

After a few days of checking out TJM, ARB and Ironman Bars ive decided to go with the Ironman Deluxe Commercial bar.
I think its the best looking bar ive seen and it seemed value for money.
Its the second model up in ironman's range and has built in driving lights whilst still costing the same price as arb/tjms lowest level bars (w/no driving lights).

The car is in the shop now and will post more pictures soon.

Next on the list is tyres and who knows after that.

Ironman commercial delux Bullbar
from Everything 4wd in cranbourne. They supplied and fitted.

Winch, nightingale brand... cheapy. (i buy a fair few of that brand product from the store in melb but found the winch cheaper online)
its rated 9500lb.
Is a off ebay... also fitted by everything 4wd

the stereo is touch screen gps/dvd/reverse camera/radio etc...
also off ebay.

Any internal-door pics of the 6x9 install? I wonder if/how you've got them tightly sealed into the door cavity. Any reliance or leakage into the plastic trims will dramatically reduce bass performance.

I've only replaced the front 6" - haven't had the time for a proper install of anything larger.

Yeah I've just got them installed into the plastic trims.

This probably isn't the best way but it's the easiest to fit.
I just cut out the plastic cover and mounted them on that.

I got the 6x9s free so I don't mind too much and they still sound better than the stock 6's
I've only done one so far so I'll take pics when I do the passenger door.

Any idea which tyres you're gonna go for?

Those 6x9's fit nicely. Reminds me I've got a pair of JL Audio splits that have been sitting in a box for a year I need to install in mine :shock:

Not sure exactly. Just paid 2k for winch and bar and about to go overseas so funds are a little short. Probably looking at bfg mt ktm2.

Anyone know what height a 90series sits at?

I need roof racks for work and want to get lift in the future but still want it to sit under 2.1m

I think I'm dreaming though

Mine sits at about 1.9m - with <2" OME, 265/75R16, no racks. You'll might make it with a low profile rack (flat, no sides).

Yeh def will need low profile racks. I have some tradie racks that I might cut own and weld to make the height. I'll post pics once all done.

Mine with 2" lift and powerful 4x4 roof rack (pretty much the same as ARB) sits just above 2.1m ...meaning shopping car parks are pretty much a no-go!

Used my winch for the first time today...

worked great although it wasnt really anything special..

We had a big boulder to move at work so instead of using hard work to push it down the hallway of a house, i got the snatch strap and winch control out and towed it down...

heres a pic of the boulder...





Since last post ive added some small pluse driving lights, changed all my globes to 4700K globes and added some small LED day driving lights on the bullbar.

Started working on a low profile set of roof racks (still under 2.1m) but a broken leg has stopped all works and outdoor touring... as well as rig upgrades due to lack of funds..

my old man had the car before me and he had them fitted. not sure what came with it when we bought it (2003) they still ahve a fair/ bit of tread left... i kind of want them to die so i can justify some muddies.. or even a more aggressive looking A/T on it.
