Be interested to see how it performs with the locker in. I am a little skeptical, as being an everyday driver for me, I think the tyres may scrub out quicker, and my driving style would need to adapt a bit.

I've booked in for next Thursday (30th June) for the Lokka to be fitted - be interesting to see how that goes.

Had a look at the angle on the front CV joints after the lift:

      Driver side:

      Passenger side:

Not that clear in the photo's but I don't think the angle is too bad - it's almost level. I had wondered if I would need one of Mick's diff drop kits but I don't think so.

Just measured the front droop with the lift and got 860 mm.

Looking forward to the Lokka going in tomorrow.

Still waiting on getting the Prado back with the rear Lokka. It went in yesterday and should have been back the same day but they couldn't get the gasket for the diff. Should be back this arvo - fingers crossed.

What annoys me is when they quoted they said the price included oil etc. I asked if it included the gasket and was told it doesn't need a gasket just sealant. I queried that and said the Toyota manual says it has a gasket and they said no, it just needs sealant. When they called to say the car wouldn't be ready yesterday they said it needs a gasket as a spacer. If they had listened to me in the first place they could have got the gasket in ready.

Dont worry mate, I know, its annoying but it will be worth it.
Thats why I try and do everything I can myself. Someone else always messes things up!!
Let us know how you go, first impression etc.
              Good luck with it.
              Cheers
              Marc

Thanks Marc, you already know the story behind why I ended up paying someone to do it

I can't wait to see how it handles now.

Still waiting I'm the only one left in the office so my lift has gone. Workshop says another 30 minutes and they will come and pick me up. I hate waiting!

Finally got the car back - apparently no dramas. Only driven it home so far (in the wet) and surprised by how loud the ticking is going round corners. Will get to drive it more tomorrow so will see how it goes.

Apparently the battery went flat and he had to jump start it - don't know why that would be as I haven't had any issues with it.

                          Really loud clicking?
Oil WAS included in the price wasnt it? LOL

Probably left a door ajar all night, killed the battery.

I was listening for it so it might not be as noticeable as I feel at the moment. Will be able to judge it better tomorrow.

OK, so I've had more of a chance to try it (on-road) and it's not as noticeable as I first thought. For normal driving you can't tell it's there - I'm guessing that normal road noise is louder than the clicking at speed.

When you are making tight turns at very slow speed (getting in and out of parking spaces, going round mini roundabouts, tight turns at junctions) you can hear a ticking noise. With the stereo on you probably wouldn't notice it. I had my 13YO daughter with me this morning and the only time she commented on the ticking was when I was turning into a parking spot and she didn't have her iPod on. She didn't know I had fitted the Lokka so wouldn't have been listening for it.

Be interesting to see how it goes off-road next Sunday.

I think I was just over sensitive last night.

With the battery issue I knew it was charging on the way home as the Redarc was turning on to charge the second battery but it was going off at junctions with Wipers, headlights and brake lights on. I charged it overnight and seems fine now and the Redarc is staying on for a long time after I turn the engine off (just like I'm used to). I guess that they must have left something on, even though he said they didn't.
