Now that I'm putting up a few images on PP I thought it might be time to organise an account on an image hosting site to make finding my images again easier. Up until now I've just been using postimage.org without setting up an account. Just wondering what other people are using, i.e. photobucket and are you using a paid or free account.

I use photobucket free account. I also have the app on my android phone. The moment I take a photo on my phone, it uploads to my account automatically and I can then just jump onto my laptop/desktop/rugged PC which are always logged into photobucket and the photo is there ready for posting. Don't need to download images or any crazy stuff like that.

Do you have to resize the images first? I notice the free a/c limit is 2GB, most of my images are 5-10mb in size each. I took 1.76gb of images on yesterday's day trip alone LOL. Now obviously I won't load them all but what happens once you fill your free a/c? Does it just delete the older images?Originally posted by derek11 View Posti'm using photobucket free account so I can put up the larger images that you usually see.
Sounds great except I use a digital SLR, not my phone.Originally posted by RanJ View PostI use photobucket free account. I also have the app on my android phone. The moment I take a photo on my phone, it uploads to my account automatically .......

Fido I use photobucket too but only for putting images here and other forums. I resize in Photoshop first but you can set upload size in Photobucket. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

OK, worked out how to set the upload size and uploaded a few pics to try it out. Is there a way to move the pics from the default bucket to an album after you create the album? I've looked around but can't figure out how it's done, will have a look at online help too.
Edit: Worked out how to move them, had to go into library and turn Organise on first.Last edited by fido666; 13-10-2013, 05:45 PM.

I use a mixture of Google Drive and Google Plus.
If i take a photo on the phone then it gets synced straight to G+, or if I take a photo with the dSLR then I copy all of my pics to Google Drive to back them up, and can then share/link from there.
Only costs $5pm for 100GB so bugger all really for the sake of having everything backed up off site, plus being able to share them out as needed.

I generally use my DSLR too, the phone gets used for test shots or when I don't have the camera handy. Sometimes you need to use a real camera, because you can't take shots like these with a phone. You can't call anyone using a camera though...

If you use your phone be careful because it will usually log the GPS coordinates of the shot so if you want to keep that information a secret turn that off or edit the EXIF data. There are some free EXIF programs available that will let you do that.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
