Re: Prado Air Locker vs LSD vs Traction Control

Good marketing material from ARB (might have to show it to the missus) - end of the day it comes to the drivers needs (and wants).

The situation I'm in is that I'm suffering the effects of sag up front and need to get some kind of sturdier support in the rear of the vehicle especially when I load up the car. I can do a temporary fix in the rear and install polyairs but I would have to change these soon as I get my lift done.

In saying that, I'm going to do the lift and polyairs first (solve the immediate problem - need) and then get lockers later on down the track (more of a want).

Re: Prado Air Locker vs LSD vs Traction Control

The pricing comparison ARB suggests, forgets to mention that you can get a GXL and add option pack 1, which is what I did for around $1800, and you get all the Traction Control, Stability Control, Downhill Descent and Side/Curtain Airbags.

The next thing is to experience and experiment with those systems (hopefully not Airbags!) to get the most out of the car.
I think all those safety options in one package for my family, far outweigh ARB's diff lock orientated marketing.

      Cheers, Mat

Saying that.. My locker goes in next monday :P
        Front, rear or both?

            Hi All,
Just out of curiosity if you have traction control in a Prado can you still fit Air Lockers or would you have to disconnect the traction control permanently if you wanted to fit the Air Lockers

            Thanks,

            Vijay

Re: Prado Air Locker vs LSD vs Traction Control

              Vijay,

It shouldn't be a problem as the traction control is only looking for uneven slip between the wheels. A locker will stop this slip, so the traction control won't come on.
