  • Fitzroy Xing rollover

A Landcruiser has rolled over on a dirt road near Fitroy Crossing (WA) killing 2 and injuring 9 others. This was a single car rollover and none were believed to be wearing seatbelts.

A bit like the roofless Patrol I saw with 15 on board including 7 kids and with a woman in the front passenger seat holding a baby. And no seatbelts.

Is this where a bird strike was believed to have caused the accident?

I Just read the atricle and we have to wonder, 11 people in an 80 series Cruiser how many sitting on laps? If you have a look at the photo I'll bet the driver was the 33 yr old woman killed and that the child killed was being held in the front seat.

Apart form the devastating result, and thoughts going out to the friends and relatives, guess this is going to be another 4WD bashing issue. Will they release what the cause was for a single vehicle accident, speed, alcohol, loss of concentration by the driver with 11 people in the car?

I am not surprised though about the remaining passengers surviving, shows that 4WD's are a safe place to be in the event of a serious accident.

No the driver was a 22 year old male. All occupants were from the same family and were heading back to their Aboriginal community.

I don't suppose it was this bird?

This may seem insensitive but what the hell were they doing with 11 people in the car to begin with? Idiots like these are what makes our roads unsafe. Imagine the fallout if it collided with another vehicle. Bloody morons.

Oh, what a surprise! No doubt the local police will be accused of not doing enough to stop this from happening. They should have had an RBT just down the road from the crash site - this way, the driver would have been breath tested and arrested and the prang would not have happened.

                          Re: Fitzroy Xing rollover

I was simply making a point that kav's (excessive) politically correct statement is an indirect way of attacking a race. ie: "non indigenous non earthen caucasion colour" to be used instead of "white"... Not too sure why he brought it up in the first place. Anyway, I won't be going down that path. You people should lighten up and watch some Russell Peters

                          Cheers

To add to the thread, I heard on the radio today that the official Easter road death toll is now at 1. Take care during easter everybody! There's no point rushing or speeding, it's a holiday - take it easy and enjoy.
