Our power bill has gone up I reckon 30-40% over the past 2 years because of state government balls ups and nothing to do with the carbon tax.
I think it's a bit piss weak that the carbon tax is being used as an excuse for miss-management over the past 10-20 years.
And for all those praying for the next election I don't think that Abbot is the messiah, I'm not sure that he can be trusted either.Steve

So Krypto, you would rather vote the red headed liar back into power and really f##k this country?
Have a read of Larry Pickering's blogs: what he has described during the last couple of weeks is what was happening before the red headed galoot was voted in, when she was a lawyer, and what has happened since. I have heard similar information from other people as well.
I will be trusting Abbott, not Gillard.
Travel through the outback and speak to people, see what they have to say. Some people want to shoot her because their businesses are nearly broke.

you are correct krypto . not all of the increases are due to the carbon tax . there is a bit of gougeing going on and having to now pay for the crap that has been going or not going on for the last 20 years . and over here in nsw weve got big barry o fazza who is now proving to be just as big a bullshit con artist as everybody else . bazza is starting to put together a superb portfolio of BS and broken promises . he was the messiah but now he's just a very naughty boy . oh yeah and for the record i voted for him . damn03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . Calm down Yowie, I didn't say who I was voting for but I did say that I don't trust Abbott and I stand by that.
Gillard didn't stuff the country on her own, that started a long time ago. I started life in the steel industry and the liberals did as much to stuff that as anyone.
I'm sick of all the cheap political point scoring.
As for getting out in the country I'm not sure what that's got to do with it. But if it helps I'm just at the southern end of the Anne Beadell highway at the moment, does that count?Last edited by krypto; 15-08-2012, 10:07 AM.Steve

I'm calm Krypto.
I traveled through the Kimberleys a couple of months ago, of the business people I spoke to, no-one liked Mz Gillard, and they were all itching to vote for Tony Abbott.
The same when I traveled through the east and the middle of S.A. last year, similar comments.
Yes, politicians tell fibs, some more than others, and yes, Liberals have done stupid and corrupt things as well, but I would rather not have Mz Gillard telling the population what is good for this country. She has no idea, and if her dealings as a lawyer are ever made public knowledge, you will see why. (and I don't want Kevin Rudd back as leader either)
Enjoy your trip along the Anne Beadell Highway, and wherever else you are heading.
Dave.

its nice to see that our beloved PM is pork barrelling beautifully , by offering "families " $250 to help pay their power bills . thats terrific news . that will almost cover 1/4 of the cost of the increases of our bill . oh and thats just me and the missus . not a family with kids or teenagers . oh bugger , we won't qualify for it either , we don't live in a housing commission home or on the dole . but its all good because somebody did a popularity poll outside lakemba mosque at 5pm on a friday which found that the redhead is much more popular than anyone else. unfortunately poor old tony can't afford to stick the knife in or he might lose the unloseable election.03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . Had a couple of drinks with an old workmate yesterday. He told me that one of his friends works in the federal Labor party policy/advisory section and he was expecting to be out of a job during September, 2013, when the Labor party gets the arse.
He told my mate that he would have to look for a job after September, however, he would not be in any rush as the big nosed, red headed, fat @#^*# has signed up all of the workers onto contracts, that continue well past the election date. In effect, all the workers will be paid to sit on their arses for some time should the government get voted out.

I would be a little suspicious if there is not a voted out of office clause in there. Its a basic rule for political parties and would see labour crucified on the national and international stage for many many years to come.Originally posted by yowie View PostHad a couple of drinks with an old workmate yesterday.
