Thanks for the stickers Richo. Found them in a pile of crap the missus left on the bench!!! Given one of them to Dave (sapradogxl) for his new 150 when he gets it and will very soon attach mine to the prado!!!

Following up on a note Richo attached to the stickers - which queried a need to possibly follow this party idea a little further, I have attached some info below...

Party registration guide (Federal Registration of Political Parties)

A guide is to assist political parties to understand the party registration provisions of Part XI of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 (the Electoral Act). It provides general guidance on the requirements and process for:

• the registration of political parties;
• the operation of the Register of Political Parties (a public document); and
• party deregistration

The Funding and Disclosure Section (FAD) undertakes the following tests:

• whether the applicant party is an organisation [s4(1)];
• whether the applicant party is a political party, in that it has an aim of promoting candidates it endorses for election to the House of Representatives and/or Senate [s4(1)];
• whether the applicant party has a secretary to sign the application [s123(1), s126(1)(b)];
• whether the application meets all the technical requirements [s126(1)(b), s126(2)];
• whether a list of at least 500 members is included [s126(2)(ca)] with relevant membership forms for the party [AEC policy];
• whether the list of members contains people not eligible for electoral enrolment, duplicate persons, the names of persons who are ineligible for enrolment, or the names of persons who have been used to support other applications for registration [s123(3), s126(2A)];
• whether the membership list meets testing to establish the party has at least 500 members as defined in s123 [s123(1)(a)(ii) and AEC policy];
• whether the application is in writing, is signed by the applicant or applicants, is signed by the person who is to be registered officer of the party and is accompanied by a fee of $500 [s126(2)];
• whether the applicant party has provided a constitution that establishes the organisation and sets out the party's aims [s123(1)(b), s126(2)(f)];
• whether the constitution provides for memberships [AEC policy]; and
• whether the applicant party's name fails the prohibited names test [s129].

I'd say we cover most of that already - although we may have to stop mentioning anything about brown paper bag donations?

Perhaps we should be starting a pole (single option) for I would like to be a member of the party officially and once re have 500 'official menmebrs' sign up and run in the up-coming election...

On a more serious note, if we did start a party with a single interest (did somebody just whispher Greens) how many 4WDrivers in Australia would take advantage of the secret ballot to voice their opinion?

An interesting question but then that may conflict with the 4WDriving First Party basic covenant of "doing nothing" as we would then have MrsAJ120 have to start embroidering party jocks and arranging beer fests in the bush.

I note that you appear to have done a fair amount of work collecting together all that information Matty - this would appear to be in direct contravention to the under-pining party policy of doing NOTHING! This is clearly a dangerous precedent to set and may ultimately lead to others doing something as well if not kept in check.

I did infact do nothing. All information contained therein was "copy paste". I would not wish to incurr the wrath of the big kahuna because of such a fool hardy enterprise such as WORK.

anybody who actually bothered to read all that ,should be dissmissed from the party imediately . i like most politicians read the first 6 words then skipped straight to the end , there was just to much information .

To be honest Matty, I think the fact that you may have got out of your beer chair, wandered to the laptop, google searched, then copied and pasted, would account for doing slightly more than nothing. However, given that fact that at the same time everyone else was doing absolutely nothing, should you take the average of all of that, I feel you may have been ok, and that the average would have still amounted to NOTHING. So all in all, I would say that you have done nothing wrong

I am planning on doing something this weekend, I am going 4wdriving officially it is an unnofficial recce or the GTG, so obviously too busy to actually do any political work!

I think Andrew has been ousted as the Big Kahuna - not sure who took over. Have to read the book when it comes out
