Yes, 2 wood screws per tiedown base.

I use these for anything attached to the top of my drawers, dirt cheap, they dont protrude through the bottom at all and are much stronger than short wood screws.

Yep T Nuts they is. avail from Bunnings, Mitre 10 any hardware store should have them in various sizes.

Yep my fridge slide is held down by 5 M10 t-nuts. The ARB tie downs are not holding much weight hence the wood screws. I bought the t-nuts from the local bolt place.
