Is PP the best forum on the web?

I have owned my Prado for 2 and a half years and only came across Pradopoint in March when I was trying to suss out an issue with the car. I have come across other forums in the past and not one has been utilized as much as PP.
What I have seen is people sharing their skills, knowledge, experiences, humour and seriously, how many things can you add to a 4wd??? on a daily basis. I get home from work at about 9pm have dinner and a chat with the wife. When she heads off to bed she tells me to enjoy PornPoint! It was a joke to start with but now has just become part of our vernacular as it keeps me entertained for a couple of hours a night. It is addictive!
Being from Adelaide I read all the posts from the local guys and find the trip reports to be a great read. There have obviously been some good friendships made (and I realize this is the same for others in their respective cities) and I can’t wait to be able to go and meet a few, except for maybe that MLC fella… he seems to be a troublemaker
The amount of PPers that do things to the Prado themselves is astounding and inspires me to see what I can achieve myself.
I have seen a couple of threads where the ‘starter’ has got a bit cranky from some of the responses. So to anyone starting a thread, if you don’t want the opinion of another person, don’t ask. And if somebody takes the mickey, lighten up. The one thing we are all here for is the enjoyment of owning a Prado and 4wd’ing and if we all had the same opinion, the world would be a boring place
So is PP the best forum on the web?

Have to agree letsgoplaces, you do want to seer clear of that MLC character.
As for PP it is a fantastic resource for Prado owners not just for doing mods to your car but also to meet others as I did.

I will second that Catain Feathersord. He truly is dodgy, self opinionated, rude, never adds any value to the discussions, leads people astray and generally talks a lot of shite, second only to that piarte that operates boats off the coast of WA.

PP has a lot to asnwer having not expelled, expunged, booted, got rid of, kicked out, terminated, and otherwise banned him from a reputable forum. Standards have dropped simply due to his verbose and extrinsic contributions.

Adelaideans! hope you are not counting me in with that bunch, Adelaide can't stand the place, only good thing about it is looking at it in the rear view mirror on the way home.

Back on topic, I do find this forum to be a great way to find info and also a lot of entertainment, and some good frienships seem to be emerging as well. The people make the forum, I am a member of a couple of other forums but I only participate in a very small way in those, one in particular is a great source of info but several of the high profile members are complete F*&#wits IMO, they make MLC look a rational sensible guy.

I would like to see a refresh in the way the forum is moderated though, duplicate threads and the like being merged and a serious cleanup would improve an already great forum.

Bloody Loxtonians whinging again

Poor Trish. I hear AJ's first attempt at renovating the kitchen was to install his version of a black widow type drawer system, camper sink and Samsung 280 litre on a fridge slider!

His rational was :Sweet heart, its modular, if you don't like it we can swap the bits around."

After she threatened to "move his things around" he decided to retry and pay more attention to other magazines besdies 4wd action. He is presently reviewing "renovators delight" and "better homes and gardens."

The downside to this is the 120 may get side curtins and some crochet cushions for the rear seats. hehehe. Instead of featuring in 4wd action, AJ will get the main spread in Prado Beautitiful, a sister magazine of Home Beautiful.


Captain feathsword, was AJ complaining about refreshing things? Expect he will be reaching for the Glen20 and giving the rig a refreshed smell too

Pradopoint is a great resource, and there is such a broad range of personalities from every corner of Australia and the rest of the world and thats what makes it... And lets be fair, without the banter of people like MLC, it would be a technical and rather boring read...
