  • Idiots of the week award

You and your mate decide it’s time to quit WA and head back east. Your mate says he knows how to shave a few hundred kilometres off the trip by driving from Kalgoorlie east along the Trans-Australia railway access road. After 400odd kays and a couple of tyres you then decide to push south along a track besides the vermin proof fence. The track is rough and rocky. Almost 50 kilometres along the track you bust another tyre and have no more spares. You and your mate get into a fight over whose stupid idea this track was. Your mate walks off and heads towards Balgair homestead which is about 50km north east of your current location. He’s gone all night and next day you figure that he isn’t coming back so you decide to walk south towards Caiguna. It can’t be that far, can it? It’s 33 – 35 degrees. You have about 2 litres of water and a bag with all your worldly possessions. You get about 10km down this track and then sit down. You ponder your imminent demise on this lonely grassy plain surrounded by kangaroos and wild turkeys. And snakes.
And then we turn up and give you water and a feed. We’ve got your mate aboard our trusty air-conditioned Toyota 4wds. We drive down the fenceline to Caiguna. It’s about 120km and takes about 2 and one half hours. The track is driven by the dogger from Rawlinna every week or two so you are lucky. The wild dogs would have scattered your remains long before anybody drove down that lonely track. And your Ford Festiva is still out there as testimony to your combined stupidity.(Google Earth 31 deg 23 min 27.1 secs East 125 deg 35 min 01.7 secs South).

It will be interesting to hear their response. Hate for kids to click on a photo, only to get them access to the other links.

That's like I've never been on facebook but somebody created 2 fake sites with my name, occupation and personal info. I managed to get Facebook to delete the sites and am waiting to find out who the culprits are.
