  • Bribie Island... Current conditions?

    Hi all,
    Anyone been to Bribie recently?
Wondering if any of the lagoons are still there and suitable to throw a toddler and wife into to escape the heat
    Cheers, Leon

I know what you mean... Free weekends are a rare commodity these days.
If I go up it'll be this Thursday. Bout the only day in 3 months that the wife and I have off together.
      Cheers, Leon

You guys talking about a bumming around on a beach day or a driving day? If its the former I might be able to convince the missus for a family day pass, possibly the 4th Dec.
          Cheers, Leon

The former mate, I would be keen to get the little girl out for quick trip to the beach and I have never done the Bribie beach.

Hey guys we've been up Bribie a couple of times in the last few months. The beach is in good condition and the lagoons are still popular with families. A good drive is to spend the day on the surfside at Woorim and then go through the inland track on the way home which brings you out on the calm side (whitepatch is about a 1hr trip). Just gives you a different scenery option, it's a bit dusty at the moment though.

                Thanks QLD...
We might still get up there tomorrow... although the family is so knackered that even a trip to the beach might be a bit much to ask !
                Cheers, Leon

I was up there a few weeks ago and the beach is the best I have ever seen it. It is like a highway at low tide and is now much wider than it used to be so there is even still room to drive at high tide if you get caught. All the lagoons are sealed over again so no worries about them either (12 months ago they had broken through and the 2nd one was quite a deep crossing if it wasn't dead low tide). These pics were taken on the 5th January this year.

If your after a bit of privacy from other campers I would highly reccomend campsite 10.

                        Hi

I was there on the weekend just passed and the lagoons have broken out again - though 1 and 2 were easily crossed about 2.5 hrs after high tide (didn't go past 2).
The inland track is closed at both ends - assuming due to recent weather.
                        No pics - sorry.

I was there last weekend also. That inland track was completely flooded still that's why it was closed. Stacks of cautious people At the first crossing as it was flowing damn fast. I've got a video I'll post up a link when I get home.
