  • This week brings alot of firsts.

Well starting tomorrow this week will bring about a whole bunch of first for my prado.

Starting Saturday, she goes in for her first service, hopefully going to get the mechs to customise the FOB for me so i have power window up/down on lock unlock activated.

Thursday she gets to hitched to the trailer for her first tow only empty trailer at first

Friday morning she will again be hitched this time to the full trailer and head on down south in her first convoy for her first long hall road trip. Well probably a small run in the grand sheme of things and compared to some other prado on here but 500 km's in a single sitting not bad for her first run. this will culminate in her first dirt track run again nothing truely exciting just the rough corugated unsealed track that leads to our favourite camp ground but it will do. Can't be too bad i've done the track in a lowered commodore before.

Hopefully between saturday and thursday she will have her first additions in the form of bullbar and uhf. But since we are going away for my birthday the likely hood is i wont get these pressies till we get back a week later.

Hopefully i can come back and post some pics of the dirty girl...Prado

You dont need to the Windows up/down activated, it should work from the factory. Go out, get your key, press and hold the unlock button, wait for a continuous beep, and the windows will all start going down until you let go of the button. Do the same with the lock button to raise the windows.

Don't worry, you get less precious about the looks as time goes on.
            Anyway, scratches add character

I remember when I pulled a dead tree down for my campfire using a rope attached to my 3 month old 120. The intended bow held fast but the whole tree uprooted and fell around the car. There was a horrible noise as branches smacked against the roof and rear of the car. I was certain there was going to be some major damage. But initially there wasn't much other than a few scratches. When I washed the beast after the trip I detected the tiniest of little dents about 3mm across under the right rear window. Anyway, that was the first and the wife and I both got over it and that was it. Stuff happens. I still haven't fixed the paint on the left front wheel flare after the Mundaring powerline trip over 12 months ago.

Well service went well as one would hope. All packed now ready for tommorrows trip .

Something new to boot, never been able to put full length skis and boards across width of a car. BONUS... more room inside. Note space at back is for the fridges, putting in last thing before leaving in the morning

Be careful so that the boards do not move horizontally and put pressure on the window glasses. By the look of it there is very little gap between the boards and the windows.

Well everything went really well. Ill post some pics soon.
TRue there is only maybe an inch either side, but the boards and skis are in very heavily padded, snug fitting but flexible bags. I did a shake test and there wasn't too much movement.
