Settle down fido, that model Celica has always been called a hairdressers car for as long as I can remember. Don't take it personally unless you are a hairdresserOriginally posted by fido666 View PostExpaining what the term means doesn't answer the question as to why you picked on my car out of all those posted here.

You don't even own the car anymore so I don't know why you're getting so upset about it. The second line of the quote explains why I called YOUR car a hairdresser's car because those mid to end model Celicas were exactly that. Nobody bought them for their outright performance did they? As a reasonably priced sporty looking car with 2 doors and seating for 4 they did a pretty good job.Originally posted by fido666 View PostExpaining what the term means doesn't answer the question as to why you picked on my car out of all those posted here. I didn't call your Cobra names did I?
Hopefully nobody posts a picture of a Torana Sunbird or my mum's 97 Modeo.Dave

And in baby pooh brown too! I knew someone who had the 2 door hatchback version. He put the SLR flares and rear spoiler on it but it just wasn't right.Dave

In the interests of presenting a balanced scorecard I thought I should post these up too.

The muddies really belong to the gold one and #2 who now has his license and the silver Rodeo is finally going to a new home in the next month or so. I hope. Damn thing has been sold 18 times already this year until something ultimately comes up to delay the purchase. Anyway if the next interested person falls over it is onto carsales and bye bye.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

While I was waiting for the GTS I drove the gold one to and from work for a month. I got something like 8L/100km from it. #2 drives to school three or four days a week and gets better economy than that. For a ute it's not too bad. Articulation is poor even with the suspension kit so a rear diff lock is on the wish list. At least the LSD still works but it isn't up to the 150 with its electronic wizardry.
The ute is really handy when we go kayaking, I have fewer concerns dripping salt water over the fibreglass canopy than the Prado roof with its roof seam to trap the salt. Quite a bit lower too to load after a day of paddling. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I was given a Getz as a loan car once, cost me all of $3 petrol to run it for 3 days LOL, far less thirsty than the Prado but that's not surprising given the size and weight of the vehicle. A lot of the older ones are trashed though, they are cheap so don't get looked after by the owners in a lot of cases.Originally posted by davy View PostIn 09 went to Greek islands and hired a Getz I was so impressed with it bought a new one for the Mrs, and was so impressed with that bought her a new I20

My Getz costs me almost nothing to run, the economy is amazing when I put it in the boot of the prado...Originally posted by fido666 View PostI was given a Getz as a loan car once, cost me all of $3 petrol to run it for 3 days LOL, far less thirsty than the Prado but that's not surprising given the size and weight of the vehicle.
