Looks like someone was going through the bins outside Toyota and picked themselves up some moulds and dies.
Or did toyota steal them from the chinese and malaysians???????
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

You mean, just like Toyota shamelessly copied Mercedes when the Lexus LS was conceived?

It works both ways. Everyone copies everyone. Arguably, that's how Billy Gates also did it.

I remember when the Prado came out in response to Pajero getting big numbers.

Still.... not as identical as these puppies.

There's a big difference between following a successful marking exercise of another company and blatently copying design specifications and engineering devlopment with no real effort your part.
This is just another example of reverse engineering which they claim to be a coincidence.
They obviously have an infinite number of moneys designing cars to come up with that one.
As for Toyota copying Mercedes they may have done that in the past but considering Toyota products seem to get better each year whilst the other seems to follow the trend of most products from that once great manufacturing nation I don't think so.
Yes I do know the MLs are made in the USA the same goes for GDR as well.

A bit off topic but a recent survey of Germans voted Hyundai's there most reliable car! I would believe it too, we've had a couple of M class's in at work and we hide from 'em. Just rubbish!

Sounds like the Koreans are now emulating what the Japanese did in the past, i.e. build quality into a product and win new friends.

Who knows, one day, the next four wheel drive you buy could be a Korean made one. And it may not be cheap either!

You'll probably find that those littl Chinese buggers payed Toyota a shit load of money to be a ble to utilise their design. Toyota would surely being changing this model soonish anywayz so why would they care?

                              My two cents.

I bet the buils quality is crap though!
