The 2nd winch lines from another vehicle, when we 1st started to winch it out, it looked like it might roll so we hooked up another vehicles winch until the vehicle became stable, the embasrassing part of getting stuck was me not watching where I was going & I drove off the track straight into the hole while I was watching a couple of Nissans coming down another track, should of had it on video for a laugh

Not a Prado story but a Toyota Hi-ace story none better....

I was working for a Transport Courier company in Darwin in the late 90's. Was on a Palmerston/Berrimah fixed run around when Cylone Rachael was around town. Little parkland area down the bottom of Palmerston was a regular haunt between regular pickups. Sit back, radio on, nearly fall asleep during the process... Got a little board one day, heaps of mud around the place, place was drenched.... Mmm wonder how the ass end of the Hiace will go in some mud wrestling. HAHAHHA managed to the get the ass end up off the ground on a grass embankment and the driving wheel down to the axle in mude and the bugger wasnt going anywhere...
Oh no.... got 5 mins till my pickup at the shopping centre. SHITENHIZEN!! how my gonna do this, and how me gonna tell the boss over the twoway Im stuck hahahah... so I ran like a screaming banshee onto the main road.........look left.......look right..... Inbound 1500! Council tractor!! Howelp! Howelp!! like a stranded damsil in distress hahahah. Needless to say he pissed himself when he saw the van... wish I had photos hahaha... After all that, only 15mins late for the pickup which I made up for later in the day. That has been my most embarrasing bogged moment.

Well I had a few jobs to do and had to visit the folks so we went to tassie for the week. Monday night I left my wife and kids with the wives and kids of my mates there and we headed out with a defender and the prado. We left at 7:00PM aiming to be back around 9:30/10:00 PM - just a quick evening catch up. They all had to work the next day so we weren't into anything serious...

We got home at 3:00AM Tuesday. Wives less than impressed.

That was when I went back to get the bogged defender out. I'd previously got through the worst bit. Ended up here with 2 wheels completely spinning in water, another sitting in mud and just one wasn't in a rut. I've learn't my lesson about IFS!! oh...and no lockers...and no lift....and the bumpers scratched up nicely without the bullbar....

mate on his diffs at the other end

              on my belly earlier

The rest can be seen at: http://www.philtaylorphotography.com/reedymarsh/

              and a quick vid: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=genUUvo2JhE

No damage, though I was worried by the clicking of my bash plate which had bent up onto the tailshaft and the abs and handbrake lights which stayed on until I'd gone through the next puddle to wash the sensors! Ahhh - the learning curves!!
              Cheers - Phil Taylor

I'm having a guess at UHF (front drivers right), FM (rear Diver), NextG (front passanger), Sand Flag (front centre) and possible a fishing rod (the black one at the back passenger which seems to have evenly spaced eyelets)

Prado BB - I remember having high performance mud tyres like that! Time for new shoes ...

The knobbly aerial out the back is probably HF.
