  • Yeah he did, we dug it out as much as we could. Emptied it all out of the gear and winched it out with two cars hooked up to the winch vehicle.

There were a lot of clowns mucking around with it. Trying to snatch it off hi lift jacks etc. Was a real mess.

The kind of situation where there are too many cooks.......

A combination of super soft sand and probably too much weight in the car left us bellied out on the beach! We had to get snatched out by a couple of passing P platers

Not a whole lot unfortunately. Only a few whiting and herring, but we still had a good time

I did some 4x4 training up that way recently. I used to use 18PSI, now i will be using 15PSI in my Cooper STs.. made all the difference.. what pressures do you use for that kind of stuff?
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

                  • I was running 15 PSI and even lowered it a bit more to try and get out. I had actually driven about one km up the beach and then turned around and came back. It was that very small incline heading back up to the hard stuff that got me - so tantalisingly close. I reckon it was the extra weight in the car that buried me

That's a bit too general. I've been in sand before with another car that had lower profile tyres and it had no problems at all.

                          • While I was digging it out, my mate walked back down the track to find someone to help us out. The first guys he came by were more than happy to help. In all, we lost about an hour of the day.
