  • Our turbo moment!

Chris and I are preparing for our Cape trip in July/August next year. We've bought the baby Weber and it goes a treat. Next purchase was a Blackwolf Turbo Lite Plus 240 tent. We watched the video and read the instructions and decided to have a go putting it up. We were not as quick as the video guy (I'm sure it's edited) but managed to get it erected.
We were checking out all the beaut features when Chris discovers the storage pocket inside. "That will come in handy" she chirps.
I made us both a cuppa and we sat inside talking about all the great times ahead.
Now its time to take it down. We managed to achieve that with our marriage still intact. A clean out of the garage and we had a spot to store the tent. Then my mobile phone rang with a very muted sound.
When I was making the cuppa Chris found my mobile which had fallen from my pocket and put it in the "handy" storage pocket and then forgot about it.
The second time we erected the tent and took it down, sans mobile phone, was much quicker than the first!!
We both anticipate that this will be the first of many funny incidents that will happen when planning and completing our trip so we have christened them our "turbo" moments and decided each one will incur a fine of $10 which we will donate to the Royal Flying Doctor Service. We could well need their services!!
First donation went off this afternoon!!

    Cheers

    Jim

What a top idea Jim - always nice to get a few karma points on your side donating $10 to RFDS.

When we put the tent up first time, no phone
When we took it down first time, a concealed phone
When we put it up the second time, a lost ringing phone
When we put it down the second time, no phone but $10 poorer!

My next donation to the RFDS. On a recent camping weekend, before going for a drive I forgot to disconnect the LED lights that were attached from the Prado to the awning. Luckily a new plug will fix it. Only 60 days until we leave for the Cape!!
