  • Total Lunar Eclipse

G'day all , As you would all be aware Cairns had the total eclipe yesterday and for those of us fortunate enough to witness it , it was pretty spectacular . The first one to pass over Cairns area since about 600 A.D they reckon ? I must admit that i was a bit ho-hum about it all at first but after seeing all the Ferals and international folks , NASA etc arriving , it began to sink in that it was a big event . I couldnt beleive how dark it got , lights on in the Prado on my way to work at 6.30 am . Pulled over on the highway to watch it with all the others . AMAZING . I'm thinking of growing some dred's . This is a lunar eclipse, taken Nov last year (?)

This is part of the solar eclipse we saw in Brissy

I've yet to merge the shots into a sequence as per the moon. The moon redshift is cool.

A mate is up in Cairns at present, doing a bit of work and a bit of fishing. He said the place was jam packed with tourists, 60,000 he was told.
