For those that didn't see it tonight, ABC's Four Corners program (now available on iView) is pretty confronting.
The first 5 minutes of the program, in particular, depicts (with actual footage) the life-saving efforts and med-evac of a soldier soon after being blown up by an IED in Afghanistan. The courage of the soldier, who remained conscious while receiving first aid in the helicopter despite his horrendous injuries (which resulted in both legs and one arm being amputated), is amazing. It's pretty hard to watch but makes you appreciate just how brutal war is.
The program also highlights some of the social tragedies of war and unintended victims (such as children).
Warning: the show contains actual footage, graphic images and swearing.
