Hey great pics. I figured you would be properly prepared but we do get some who are really out of their depth and not prepared for the unforeseen. Being misquoted or having the media put their own words to stories - no way, that doesn't happen, does it?

Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.

Can you point out which one had the support vehicle or if I have missed a cyclist in my research. Any info would be appreciated.
Yeah, I see you've already got him. Russell Worthington. He was doing his 10 deserts in ten weeks trek. We chatted to him for a while just south of Durba Springs. He told us he had a back up crew a couple of days behind him if anything was to go wrong but had to carry all his own supplies. My wife commented later that he looked that wiry and fit that if he died out there, he wouldn't rot, he'd just dry up like jerky!
He appeared quick sane as I guess most people who do this kind of thing probably are!
      Can't we just keep travelling?

Some people are unprepared, agreed. This year a Polish couple attempted to cycle unsupported from Billi to Wiluna. They called it quits between wells 45 and 46. Reports from travellers coming south was that they were struggling from day 1.

In contrast, the successful cycling team of Canadian/English Scott and Tom looked strong all the way through. Before departing, Tom was having trouble with his trailer. As luck would have it, the Polish couple arrived back in Perth in time to loan Tom their trailer. This team cycled south to north 26 days.
