Must be a 150 issue, the stock jack lifts the 120 with 50mm lift.

I haven't bothered trying the stock jack on my 120, even the trolley jack struggles unless I use the rear diff pumpkin
It's not the actual lift that is the issue, it's the droop travel. Mine is 930mm rear and 890mm front at max extension measured from the bottom of the 17" rim through the hub centre to the bottom of the guard

I can confirm that using Toyota's recommended front jacking points only stretches the springs:
I learnt that it is possible to use the gearbox crossmember if you had to:

The rear jacking points are under the axels, so no problem. I also learnt that the standard jack is a PITA to wind back down after full extension!

I made a do hickey to go on top of my jack that secures it into the hole on the LCA so I can jack from there. I have posted pics before but can't repost them while on the road.

When connecting the phone to the Bluetooth (120 series), I thought the signal bar on the stereo indicated the connection between the phone and the stereo but in fact its the phone reception to the tower. My older phone doesn't show any signal even thou it has better reception... It is one of those Samsung flip phones A411 which I have had for about 5 years.

I snapped a bolt on my Brown Davies under-body protection plate on my last great outing. So then I get this idea of fabricating a stud kit for the plate that way I only have to un-do the nuts to get it off. I proceed to secure the studs into the frame using high strength thread locker. Let it all dry for half the day and then position the plate under the car and begin to do up all the nuts before realizing that I can't get to one of the main studs at the front lower left corner of the plate. 2 hours later, I have pulled all the studs, cleaned the threads and installed the hole thing using new bolts. Oh well, seemed like a good idea at the time.

My lesson is when you take roof rails off the 150 and just screw bolts in to stop water ingres. It does not work that way as the holes around the bolt holes are not sealed. So after washing car and climbing in and seeing lower half of roof lining discolored then realizing it is water. YAY ME. Drive around to then dry out roof lining. Happy days...

When u ask a concreter for a quote, it doesn't include sealer or cutting it up.
Even though these generally are required pretty standard I thought.

My BD plates have a metal guard around the all the bolts...

Mine has these too. One of the long bolts had come loose so I grabbed a socket and nipped it up only to have it snap off. I think the bolts supplied were not high tensile. Needed to use the easy out to get the broken bolt out. I also lost a bolt out of the front where the ARB plate mates with the BD plate.

If they do the sealing they seal it on the next day or 2 before the concrete has cured. You're better off doing it yourself and wait at least a week to avoid white spots caused by trapped moisture. Cheaper too.

bad start, lucky finish

monday morning woke up early for work ... got organised, no keys to the work ute, (prado master and my house keys all on the same ring).. the whole house , shed,,, turned up side down,, several times over

ended up biting the bullet, grabbed the spare to the prado flew into work, grabbed the spare to the work ute from the office. flew back home
when i parked the prado in the drive i thought i'd give the shed another look over....

as i walked past the drivers side of the bullbar, i noticed that the keys were jammed between the bar and the body , just under the blinker....
(was that moment i remembered sitting the keys on the bar,sunday arvo, while i kicked the soccer ball around with me boy...) instead of the keys getting spat off the bar on some road between home and work. the master key wedged itself in between the bar/body... i learned that a bad start to my day, was one off my luckiest in a long time.... cheers butane ,

That among other things PP is worth it's weight in gold when stuck at home with bad weather and a sick daughter while SWMBO is away.

I also learnt something that gave me a warm fuzzy feeling while on the forum main page and scrolling around the "marketplace" section for our Retail members.
